Heroes: Out Of Time

By fred | November 6, 2007

Heroes(S02E07) So, here we go with what creator Tim Kring said would be, finally, a lesser sucky episode of his show. He might have used different words, but the idea was the same, that they would now try to make good episodes instead of having us to wait & wait so that we get into sweeps season. I’ll be honest, when I read that I did not believe it for one second.

Not that I want this show to suck or anything, but after so much disappointment I’m just not gonna take their words for it. I’ll have to see it before I can believe it. Speaking of which, I just finished watching the episode. What’s the verdict ?

I can see why he said what he said, but I don’t really agree. Sure, finally they’re trying to get sense of purpose & meaning into all stories and characters, but that’s far from enough. Peter isn’t really one year in the future, but one in the past. It’s like season one all over again.

Ok let me get this right, a terrible thing is gonna happen, and he has to save the world. Hint: if you want to save the world, you’ll need to find the cheerleader, cause once again, she’s the key! Oh come on people, find new stories to tell would you! When the focus to save the world was brought back to Claire all I could think of was Butter’s remark, in a previous South Park episode : “uhh… I’m the key? Could I not be the key, Morpheus ? I don’t want to be the key!

Some people are still behaving like complete idiots and so many things simply don’t make sense it really hurts. Now I noticed a change during this episode, I’m not completely out of it, and I’ll agree that it was less horrible than it used to be, but it wasn’t good either.

Hiro & Takei

Hurray!! That whole stupid additional timeline Hiro was trapped in is finally over ! Jesus, were they really making those first episodes only to annoy the Hell outta us as much as possible or what?

Don’t think that it ended any better than it started though. So what we all thought of back then and hoped they wouldn’t do, they did. Turns out Hiro is the hero he’s a fan of, he’s the great Takei from the legends. How lame.

But wait, he kept being incredibly stupid still. For instance, when he has to get ride of all the guns in order to save History, no less, he could just freeze time the way he did when he first got there and started messing up things, do his things assured that no one would catch him, he could take all the time he wanted, and once done unfroze time.

But wait, in that scenario how could someone like say Takei get in the mix ?

And after some pretty huge threat from Takei, when he learns his father is dead you’d think he would start rethinking his theory that Takei is indeed dead. Cause he’s not, since we now know he is Adam. The same Adam than before Hiro went back, apparently, because he did it all the same. Don’t you love it when changing the past has no consequences whatsoever in the present/future ?

Well, at least this isn’t a show about time travel. Well, or not entirely.

Quick question : I wonder how that time traveling thing works, because Hiro was able to get back in his present timeline, yet still had no clue when that actually was.
