Heroes: One Of Us, One Of Them

By fred | October 1, 2008

Heroes(S03E03) A little late with this one, but I have a good reason for it, good enough for me at least : it’s Heroes, it’s really not good, and it’s not even fun. I know the show is doing relatively good in ratings for now this season, but I can’t imagine this last for very long, I mean it seems to me like the writers on this show haven’t really learn from their past mistakes.

Oh I hear those who’ll say, last season was boring and too slow, and look how things have improved now as every storyline gets resolved in three episodes or less, but that’s not really better, that just makes everything irrelevant and gives a major impression of things being rushed, as well as a sense that no one, not even them, knows where any of this is going.

Quickly, let’s go over this week and all the stupid things that took place…

Hiro

I’ve said it before, but I really believe that back in season 1, Hiro & Ando were a great duo, and (one/two of) the best characters on the show. But after being stuck in the past for an entire season, apparently Hiro’s fate is now to be stuck in boring useless filler. No really, that whole story was a bit pathetic, and the most annoying isn’t that Hiro keep making one mistake after the other, it’s that he, they both, can be so stupid.

Hiro is all about being a hero and saving the world, so after it lost the first half of the magic formula that can destroy the world, what did he do? Make sure to get the second half and have it stolen from him again, just to doom us all. Once the Haitian was down stairs after a Ando-attack, it was more than obvious that powers were back in and Daphne would sneak in and steal it from them, unless they left right now.

So instead, blah blah blah and let’s make sure the formula is gone again… Let’s just kill them both already.

Claire

She’s annoying. So are both her mothers. Seriously, let’s just focus on the fire experiment crap : what the fuck was that ?? Oh I know, there was supposed to be some kind of psychological thing going on and shit, but really, is Claire can’t die or feel pain but you can kill her (even for only a moment) it’s just silly. First we’re told to save the cheerleader (to) save the world, then we learn she can’t die and couldn’t be killed even if we tried, so yeah let’s now just list the ways to kill her : suffocation, beheading, …

More importantly, if there’s no more oxygen the fire can’t live either, because it actually needs some. Also, since when the ability to “play with fire” meant that Claire’s mom didn’t need oxygen herself ? Or that she wasn’t affected by heat ? One last thing : no more flame doesn’t equals a sudden burst of oxygen, if Claire was having problems due to the heat and/or the lack of oxygen, that won’t change like that just because there’s no more fire, things don’t really work that way, not in the real world actually.

Nikki/Tracy/whatever

I’m sure people will find that good, instead of a new personality for crazy Nikki it’s a clone or something. Sounds to me more like a cheap way to “really” kill a character and yet keep Ali Larter on the show. In a typical soap opera, it would be the evil twin sister no one knew existed, but please, this is Heroes, she’s not a twin, she’s a clone! Cause that make things so much better, right?

HRG & Sylar are on a boat…

Teaming them up was just for show I think. Writers thought people would find that cool and fun, but the only fun thing about it was Sylar acting like a cop ordering people around. Thank God he’s still himself, even though Mama Petrelli being the mother of everyone is a bit too much for me, cause that whole story about getting Peter into a villain’s body and them attacking a bank and all, only to end everything right there in two minutes : Future Peter come and leave with actual Peter, whose body was apparently hidden inside Jesse’s body - wow, this shit makes even less sense than ever! - and everyone is dead or captured (or ran away) just like that. Did it feel quite rushed to anyone else?

And for the final joke, you have HRG looking at Sylar, now fine to be locked in a cage every night it seems, telling the Haitian that once he found his weakness, he’ll kill Sylar. Ah, if only he had someone who could turn Sylar into just a regular human being without any abilities

And where is Elle? The only character I was wondering about, now that she’s free and alone I was hoping she’d go crazy or something…

LOl I agree with you 100% thank god theres somone out there thinkin the same way about all that lol.

Was intrested in Claires mom not needing oxygen and how her fire can keep going with less air…and yeah Claire and her foster mother are annoying, I thinkl Claires blood parent seems intresting. Claire needs to learn how to fight like Wolverine fast to make the show more entertaining cuz all she is is a test dummy with emoions.

I was soo happy when I saw Ando killing Hiro lol… Finally can’t wait for that future…

Oh yeah whats The Petrellis mothers powers? just dreams? cuz that’slame I get those too lol.

And I think they should get rid of Pter Petrellie him and Hiro are soo annoying with there actiond and wrong discisions. But Peter and Sylar having all those powers is too much and make all the other charcters kinds pointless and cheap..
