Heroes: Four Months Later

By fred | September 26, 2007

(S02E01) There was a log of expectations, questions and anxiety regarding the big return of Heroes on NBC. Not just because the show did well last season, or because NBC made sure the whole world was aware that it was the greatest hit ever in the history of the world – though, granted, they said it in a more pretentious way.

HeroesBut had writers/producers worked on the actual scripts, and planned good episodes for us, or were they all busy promoting the show, that’s the question.

Anyways, I was waiting for it, but not more than that. Because as I already expressed, the first season’s finale was an absolute piece of crap, and offered a very bad new perspective on the whole season, and show.

But let’s start things fresh, and see how this new season look. What’s the verdict after watching the season premiere ?

And as far as I’m concerned, it was bad. Like, really bad.

They start with a mixture of flashback scenes from season one and the few months that went by after wards, because we’re not told what happened. We start four months later, as hinted in the title, and it starts with…

* Suresh

After his voice-over narrating, we witness him doing a lecture about those “heroes”, their powers, a deadly virus that targets them, the end of the world (of we know it) !! Nothing less, yet he doesn’t appear to be that excited and passionate about his speech, made – I forget to mention – in front of four or five people, top.

But this is only part of his plan, to get approached by “The Company”, the one from season one, and maybe 24 and/or Prison Break too, we’re not really sure for now. Anyways, it does succeed. He’s recruited by a very “capable” member of the company, as he & Bennet had planned.

What else to say, expect that it was as boring as it sounds. Plus, I’m sure it’s a great plan, the double-agent thing. I mean, it’s not like they could have people over there able to read minds or force one to tell the truth or anything like that, don’t be ludicrous, this is not The 4400 !

* Niki/Jessica, Micah, and D.L.

Don’t look for them, they were not around. Yay, no more stupid useless filler-ish boring family drama!! Not so fast, they found plenty of new ways to bore you with family drama crap.
