Gossip Girl: There Might Be Blood
By fred | November 4, 2008
(S02E09) Aw, Gossip Girl. Delicious little guilty please we can’t wait for each week. It’s funny how some things change and evolve with this show, while others never do. They stay the same no matter what. Take B and S for example, we’ve been told S was a bad girl in the past, before she left, long before she came back, when the show started. I find it really hard to believe…
We’ve yet to really see that side of her, I mean for real, and I don’t think she can pull it off. Even this season, she tried, but it didn’t last, she switched back to her good girl mode in no time. Just like she and Blair can never really stay are still friends, and despite a little fight here and there, under pressure, they simply can’t stay mad at each other, even after they actually fought, like actually physically fought.
On the other side, some things are changing, best example ever : Little J. Last week I said how I thought her transformation was a little too abrupt and sudden, but now that she’s going that path and with Agnes leading the way, she seems unstoppable. Now I have to say that I am glad she did what she did, I’m glad she pulled it off and that it worked.
And it did, of course everyone loved the show, including Lily. We saw Jenny a little hesitant to crash her friends’ ceremony, and maybe she might have kicked things off a little sooner ? I mean especially for people you care about, not waiting for the actually ceremony to go down and interrupting the award presentation might have been a little better, no?
But it worked, everyone loved it, and the only thing that was really missing was… Jenny herself! She made it happened, it was a success, and where as she at the end of it ? She should have been there, upstage with Agnes, isn’t it the tradition that at the end of the show, the designer shows up to get his 5 minutes ? Alas, Jenny was nowhere to be seen.
Because she left it all, and Nate, to look for Vanessa. In the end it it looks like Vanessa is almost the only one who got hurt in the process, and it wasn’t even about the event. Not sure how this is all going to play out, it still feels odd to me as this whole romance came out of nowhere, but Jenny & Nate are a cute couple I guess, and I hope things don’t just end like that between them.
And now, Vanessa is ready to go back to Chuck… just saying.
Back on Jenny, she did put a lot of work into this, and while I can see why Rufus would not really be pleased by all this, he was extremely harsh with her. He more than anyone should know she’s only trying to achieve her dreams, and I’m sure in his rock-star days he wasn’t always the good guy following all the rules.
Trying to have his own daughter arrested ? Really ?? Any idea how Jenny, who’s only 15, must have felt ? Was that just an admittance of his failed parental skills ?
I guess so, I mean… did he really assumed that after that she would stay in her room and wait for some punishment, after her own father tried to have her sent to jail, when after pulling a little success of her own and on her own (not entirely but let’s go with it), her father’s only words were how disappointed in her he was. Dude, you should listen to Lily, even she seems to be better at parenthood than you are, and we’ve learned that she wasn’t the best of mothers…
