Gossip Girl: Preet A Poor Jenny

By fred | October 28, 2008

Gossip Girl(S02E08) There are quite a lot of people of interest on the Upper East Side, it’s nothing new, and it’s not unusual that some are barely seen, if at all, during an episode or two. Not simply because there’s a large cast, but also because in each episode of Gossip Girl there’s usually a lot of things that will happen. This week, I think there’s no doubt that the main character of the episode was, for once, no other than Little J.

But that doesn’t mean she was the only one things were happening to, and so I think we shall simply start by talking about the others, and save the best for last. How about Chuck and Blair ? Those two have been playing games with each other for a while now, and it wasn’t really obvious if they were ever going to be able to settle things down and stop, because none of them can stand the idea of being the loser.

While it’s pretty fun to see them manipulating people and playing those twisted games they love so much, I have to say that I’m rather happy to see they have “ended” things. I have no doubt that, just like B & S who actually fought one week only to be BFF the next, Chuck and Blair will actually be able to stop the games and, well, if not be BFF at least co-exists in society without having anything to explode.

And that’s good, because honestly their little game of “say those three words, no you say it, no you say it first” was getting a little old, was it not? But that doesn’t mean that last match wasn’t fun to witness, mostly because we got to see probably the strangest alliance ever, a title that seems to find a new holder every week or so lately, as Blair was looking for advices and confiding to no other than… Dan Humphrey!

And here I was thinking Dan and Chuck was probably the weirdest combo ever. It made for some very funny exchange, and I can see why Blair wouldn’t really be aware of how to behave when the goal is to be in an actual relationship, not a twisted mind game, but seriously, I don’t care who you are, something is definitely wrong when you’re turning to Dan for relationship advices. It’s just wrong.

That said, the way it ended - with both losers in a way - was probably the only possible outcome for them, and while I can see Chuck’s point, I have to say I’m sad we won’t get to see what the bitchiest couple in town could have been like. Sure, Chuck and Blair going to the movies wouldn’t have been the most common thing ever, but is there anyone not curious as to how that would have gone ??

Anyways, I’ve hated Dan for a while now. I just say that cause, you know, he’s Dan, and I hate him. Yes, I feel a little better now, thank you. Seriously though, I actually thought it was pretty hilarious to see him changing his mind about every two second. He thinks Blair is Blair, then he realizes she really feels for Chuck and wants to help her, then after a little chat with Vanessa he decides to mess things up cause she totally deserves it, then walks in Serena and Dan is switching his mind again and goes to try to fix things… Dude, can’t you make your own decision and stick with it for, I don’t know, at least 15 minutes ??

And by the way, is it me or was Serena quite a bitch on that one ? Oh sure, Vanessa didn’t deserve it but it’s okay, whatever, who cares, she’s just Dan’s friend, but you don’t mess with her own friends, and Blair ?? Listen, maybe Blair does love Chuck and maybe he does love her back, that doesn’t mean they could treat Vanessa the way they did, especially the way Blair did one could even say. Just because Vanessa wasn’t in love with Chuck doesn’t mean she wasn’t hurt, or that it can be forgotten because Blair’s feelings are real – I’m pretty sure Vanessa was faking it either when she was nice to Chuck, and unlike them, she didn’t do anything to deserve it. Rant over.

    Hey!

just to say… I think there was something between them, J and Nate, last season like they started to hang out a little and J became sort of like a really good friend of Nate… Just don’t remember which episode was but I remember that there was a picture that was sms to everyone and at first they thought it was Serena but it was J…

    Btw… Love your web!!

    Thanks! :)

Gotta say I’m not really sure what you’re talking about… do you mean the time Nate kissed Jenny ? When she was wearing a mask and he thought it was Serena (S01E06, Victor, Victrola) ?
