Gossip Girl: All About My Brother

It’s easy : Eric is gay, that was no real shocker. Because it’s been out on the Internet for a few years or so, and even if you managed to stay away from any such spoiler, he was jealous about someone, and it didn’t look like it was the self-absorbed Jenny. Side note : they want it to be a secret, yet they kiss like that in the middle of the street, for everyone to see, right by the school !? Yeah, right.
Anyways, a few people knew about this relationship : Blair did, and so did Chuck I’m guessing. But the two firstly introduced as the mean ones do have an heart, they would never have used that info and risk to hurt Eric. The same cannot be said about Dan Georgina. She knew she could hurt Eric, and Lilly, but all she cared was to show Serena who was dealing cards, and she did. In fact, she’s on her way to become my favorite character on the show already, which is depressing since she isn’t a regular so I know she’ll be leaving soon…
I’m pretty sure that soon S and D will break up, I can see that coming, just like I could see him falling for G, whom he knows as Sarah. Oh yeah because, remember how I said things were being rushed, well “Sarah” is now already the BFF of both Dan and Vanessa, just like that. Anyways, Serena will cry and be sorry, but she totally deserves it. I don’t care what she thinks she’s done, she could have said to Dan that Georgina was back, an old “friend” from her past, without giving out any details she could have been honest and it would have been fine.
But she decided she “had” to keep it from Dan, for some reason, like he didn’t know about her troubled past already (and, again, she didn’t to go into details about that past), and so the lies keep getting bigger and bigger and now she can’t tell who Sarah really is, and by the time she’ll realize what’s going to happen it’ll be too late, cause it probably already is too late.
And for the record : S didn’t kill nobody. There’s just no way, and that’s also really something I don’t really want to see here. It’s a show about rich kids, and not so rich kids, going to school together and doing whatever it is they do when they’re not in school, which seems to be about 90% of the time really. And adding a murder in the middle of that, just doesn’t seem like a good idea. Anyone saw Hidden Palms ? Yeah, well, I don’t want to see another thing like that, please.
But I’m sure it won’t happen, and the most common way out of this will be that either no one is actually dead, or it was G would really pulled the trigger. Either way, G is manipulating Serena, who never sees anything and keeps getting sucked into her own lies because she’s stupid, and I’m not sure I care about her and Dan. You know what, bring back Nate and let’s see how he and Vanessa are doing, let them be the cute couple in town !
But to be honest, as I’ve said in the past, the relationship that I just always find myself liking the most is the one being Lilly and Rufus. There’s just something there that clicks, even when it’s a bit cliché or predictable, and I can’t wait to see how those two are going to work things out. In fact, if there’s one happy ending this show will have for its series finale, it probably will be those two finally getting back together, or getting married. Vanessa, Dan, Blair, Serena, those are all fun, but the one long-term couple of the show, the one that can’t happen but eventually will in the end, that’s a pretty good match for Rufus and Lilly don’t you think?
So, another really good episode, and despite not doing so well in ratings we know the show is actually really fun, and if they’re able to deal with that whole “I killed someone” without being totally lame or out of place, I’d say it can only get better. And since a second season has already been ordered, maybe writers could actually slow down a little, and let some of their stories breathe a little more.
Either way, I’m really enjoying the show and I’m pretty happy to know it will be back next season, even better next week !
