Family Guy: Stew-Roids

(S07E13) God damnit. Sometimes this show was be really funny, hilarious even, and if recent episodes have been quite disappointing, last week installment of the show worked very well, I thought. I was hoping that for the rest of this season the show would now be – finally – back on tracks and deliver one great/funny episode after the other, making us forget those dreadful times of unfunny/boring episodes we had to suffer through.
Alas, here we go again. The construction of this episode was pretty standard (for the show, that is) and some of the jokes that made no sense and/or came out of nowhere might have worked, but for the most part this was simply not funny.
Stewie messing with Brian and not letting him down the stairs lasted long enough to make me laugh, and I couldn’t help but laugh out loud when I saw him just fly out of the window like that… But other than that, this entire plot wasn’t really funny and went nowhere. It wasn’t, despite getting the episode’s title, the main plot of the episode though.
No that was for Chris & Meg, but unfortunately that won’t save anything, because this entire plot was both extremely predictable (haven’t they done this same sort of story before? sure felt like it…) and not funny. I guess it’s always fun to see Meg getting physically hurt or her mother wishing she’d commit suicide already, but we need something more to make things funny.
What else to say, at least Peter was creepy enough to lie on top of a teenage girl, you know, to keep her warm…
Another vastly disappointing episode in what will apparently end up being a very disappointing season overall. I had hoped that last week’s episode was a return to form as the show was back on track, unfortunately it seems it might have been a mistake as the show continues to fail to deliver a good half hour of laughs.
What did everybody else think?

The plot was terrible and I do admit it wasn’t good. I wished the story was more about Stewie with Steroids. Couldn’t they have referred back to Joe’s daughter encountering something with Stewie? I loved the Rocky and Bullwinkle reference Stewie made when flying out of the windoe (I hope you got that). This was predictable as you said though. I’m just happy the humor was universal and not political. I laughed really hard at the jokes.
