Entourage - The good, the bad and the ugly

By fred | July 25, 2007

Entourage(S04E06) There are some people out there that seem not to like this season of Entourage, and as I told before : they’re wrong!

Entourage is a great show, not always but very often really funny, and always entertaining. I have not changed my mind, yet this episode was not one of the best I think. Some parts were good, some were great, and some were pretty bad!

Let’s start with the good first : Although I’m not usually a fan of plots that go outside what the show is primarily about, like leaning towards characters personal life issues, on Entourage private lives have always been part of the main subjects, especially for Ari, and the whole plot with him and Lloyd was just great.

Of course he didn’t actually care for Lloyd, all that matters to him is that he’s got his assistant here & working, but if that meant chasing down the (ex-)boyfriend and lying to get the couple back together, Ari will.

I loved to see how Ari couldn’t function right without Lloyd, and how he’ll do anything to get him back. It was great, and really fun to watch him finding out more about Lloyd and his life.

I find it very cool that E didn’t changed his mind nor does he try to hide it : he doesn’t like Medellin, and he can’t stand Walsh. I’ve never been a real fan of Walsh myself, but I think E is definitely right : the guy is loosing it.

EntourageHaving not seen Medellin obviously I don’t know if the movie sucks or not, but Walsh isn’t just some kind of eccentric, “tortured artist” anymore. I think it’s gotten into his head, and not only does he thinks he’s the greatest director of his generation, but apparently he wants to be make huge Hollywood blockbusters now, not small indie movies.

The time for Queens Boulevard is done, now that he won at Sundance and thinks Medellin is the greatest movie ever made (I’m sure he’s convinced that Cannes’ Palme d’Or is his already), he completely lost his ideals and goals. I’m not even sure he really liked the book (Lost in the Clouds) for the next movie, he just likes working with Vince, or maybe consider him his “lucky charm”, and he thinks that (with him) he can turn anything into an amazing piece of art. A goldmine.
Cause he wants the big bucks now!
