Scrubs: My Hard Labor

(S07E02) This episode was an okay-episode I think. It was good, but because it was the one where JD becomes a father, despite the fact that he got dumped while his ex - whom he didn’t actually love - was in labor, I think they decided to play to emotional card more than the comedic one.

Not that it’s a bad choice, Scrubs has always had that tone, and despite being a sitcom it been filled with emotional episodes, and people died on this show more than they did on other medical shows, and I mean dramas. I had no problem with this, and now we’ve got both JD and Elliot single again, and something tells me those two might end up together. “God she knows me!

Anyways, I liked this episode, despite not being as funny as the show can be, but I thought a couple things seemed too forced at times. I get it, they wanted all stories to be about what parents can for their children, but while some felt with how the characters have grown, see Dr Cox, some felt really forced, like to have Kelso in the back of the room comforting his gay son…

Now I wonder how they will have all those character to evolve, starring with JD of course. Will Kim stay around now that they’ve broken up, or only pop up with the baby from time to time ? In other words, will this whole plot be kinda forgotten, or will we see JD become a father ?

Thank you Perry much“. Very nice, and speaking of him, the annoying voice intern might not be the best idea they had. Cox used to yell at everyone, without the need for such an obvious thing to moke. Plus, I think it’s getting old. And yeah, it’s annoying.

And there’s something I cannot not mention : Laverne. Or whoever that will actually be. Really people, was the “Men, she looks familiar!” inner thought of JD really necessary ?? I’m pretty sure anyone who watched the show recognize her as soon as they saw her. And when she started to speak, even those who weren’t looking at the time had it figured out.

My Name Is Earl: Our Other Cops is On

(S03E07-E08) I’m not sure if this was just another way to escape from the limits of the whole prison deal, or if this also served another purpose : to change Andy’s status in the prison. Either way, to me it only confirms that having Earl behind bars isn’t such a good idea.

My Name Is EarlAbout the return of Cops, I was pretty excited given how I loved the first one. And I have to admit that it was great to see the whole gang back together, crazy and not good guys. I also loved to see again many people we’ve came across over the years. And of course, the 9/11 jokes were hilarious.

The jokes were right on, targeting those morons who were not there nor had their lives affected by the attacks. Reminded me those same douchebags during a scene of Rescue Me, people who loved to talk about it and cry, even though they were not there or had their lives affected in any way. The panic caused by the “idea” of a terrorist attack was hilarious.

That being said, and despite the fact that it was filled with a lot of pretty good lines, I felt that this episode was not as funny as it could have been, or as the first one was. It felt too stretched at times, and quite slow on occasion. Sometimes it was like we were following cops even though nothing really was happening, many things felt more like filler than anything else.

Or maybe I should say, those episodes weren’t. Yes, this was a double-episode, it lasted one hour, and that might have been the problem. Should they have packed only the best of it into a regular half-hour episode, it probably would have been much better.

Here are some great lines, just for the fun of it :

- “It our first Independence Day since the September 11th 9/11 attacks.” Funny, and sadly true. Asked when the 9/11 attacks took place, some people guessed March!

- You married?
- Not anymore.
- Lucky you!
- She passed away…
- Sweet, no alimony.

- Sure, it’s not their place, but you know… “It’s okay, we’re Americans.

- “Officer down!! Not shot, just fallen. Officer up!

- Hey, white powder, check it out, that could be Anthrax!
- It looks like part of a funnel cake.
- They put anthrax on funnel cakes!! *tries to make himself throw up* Nothing’s coming!

- “I was in New-York on September 11. Not.. 2001, it was 82 or 83. High-school class field trip; Still.

- “I haven’t seen a country this broken since Vietnam. My son and I passed through there on a sex tour in the late 80’s.

- Okay so we are looking for the parents of this little blond hair blue eyed 8 year old boy. Anybody ?
- Yeah, I’ll take him!
- There you go, you guys work that out.

- Catalina is her stripper outfit, or any sexy outfit for that matter, is always welcome. So are cat fights.

- “Dude if you like elbows boobies are gonna blow your mind!

- “I read the manual on how to profile possible terrorists, but it was really confusing. So I got this from the hardware store *holds wood samples*, I’m questioning anybody that falls between Swiss almond and coconut husk.

- “Terrorist 1, Cops 1. Tie score. Your move, terrorist!
