Criminal Practice, Sexy Office, My Name Is Numb3rs

By fred | October 1, 2007

Cleaning my DVR, I finally watched a few shows I still hadn’t, and I’ll also mention a few I had seen but not mention here yet. So here we go, about Criminal Minds, Private Practice, Dirty Sexy Money, My Name Is Earl, The Office and Numb3rs.

Criminal Minds: Doubt

(S03E01) So, after all the talk we’re there, the new season begins and the two first episodes are all about Gideon leaving. This first episode was basically one scene, the last one Patinkin shot, and the episode that was pulled off the air last season, re-cut and tweak a bit. It was all pretty well made, and using “old” footage allowed them to keep Gideon around for a bit.

Criminal MindsSeems that the second episode will be more about Gideon’s absence, and the team looking for him, while this one focused on the original case. It was a pretty solid one, and I have to say that - knowing where it came from - the most interesting part for me while watching it was to see how they were bringing a new light to old footage.

Because obviously on the original episode, they were questioning their profile. But now, it was supposed to have a whole different meaning, it was Gideon not only questioning his profile, but his motive and ability to do his job, maybe even keep going through life now that Sarah was dead.
Suddenly, his looks and facial expressions had a lot more, and different, meanings behind them.

Somehow that, to me, became the most interesting part of the episode. But regardless, it was a very good, solid episode. And I can’t wait to see the next one, how Gideon does leaves (looked like he was about to kill himself) and how the replacement will go. I didn’t care much about the other internal story though…

Private Practice: In Which We Meet Addison, A Nice Girl From Somewhere Else

(S01E01) Oh. My. God.

Okay, I confess : I do watch Grey’s Anatomy. Yes, I know, it’s a very soapy show, and while ER was about an hospital ER, with whatever people/doctors working there, Grey is about those people, who just happened to be doctors here. Despite all that, guilty pleasure, I just keep watching the show. And it has its moment, it times, although some story are pretty lame (saving Bamby, anyone?)…

But Private Practice ?? I couldn’t go through this whole episode it was so bad. It’s just soapy, lame, unrealistic, annoying, from time to time makes a mention of hospital procedure or something related, but there’s just nothing. Sure, you could have been expecting something like that after the “pre-pilot” during last season of Grey’s Anatomy, but it just got worst.

I hope people will not be tuning in this week, because if they do I think they can’t be saved, it’s too late, they’re doomed. And really, it’s not like you have no choice, you have Criminal Minds on CBS. Even NBC’s Bionic Woman is better than this, hell even The CW does much better with Gossip Girl !
