Chuck: Chuck Versus The Nemesis
By fred | November 27, 2007
(S01E10) So you know how last week I said I didn’t really like the show, (or was it how I really didn’t like it?), and given that cutie Rachel Bilson was out I wouldn’t watch it no more. Well, funny thing happened: I watched it. Yeah, I don’t know what happened, habit I guess, or something, who cares the point is, I just watched this week’s episode.
I guess there’s those shows you watch but maybe don’t admit it, kind of a guilty pleasure, like Gossip Girl for instance. A show which, by the way, got better after a while I guess. It’s still not that great, but better than what I feared it would be after the first episodes. And you also have those shows you hate, but still watch them every week, it’s like you can’t help it. Maybe that’s what Chuck became for me, I don’t know, I thought that was Heroes.
Anyways, so I watched, but I wasn’t really that interested in finding out about this episode, because we knew who was back, Chuck’s nemesis Bryce, and I honestly didn’t care that much about it. Yet, that didn’t stop me from bring being disappointed by what I saw…
I feel like there was obviously some potential here, yet it kinda went no where. Bryce got out because he wasn’t really tied up, he escaped only to come back to Chuck, and then get shot - again - by Casey. Though that, precise moment, when Casey got into the room and shot him, that was good. I liked that. Just for that, it was worth to get Bryce back.
Anyways, they all trust him, he surrender to the CIA, or NSA, who cares those two never fight, right? Not in Chuck’s world at least. So then that’s it, bye bye Bryce, see you later, I bet.
Yeah sure it took a little longer, and Sarah kissed Bryce again and maybe Chuck considered for a moment calling Lou back (no? really? damn! So, can I have her number then?) but I’m sure there could have been so much more had they given more time for this whole thing to play out. Because while Chuck seemed interested at first, in the end he could do fine with not knowing why was the CIA interested in him in the first place, and no one seemed to bother that much about the reasons that had Bryce to send Chuck that e-mail that started it all.
People manipulated Bryce, maybe Casey too, and no one seemed to care that much. It’ll probably be forgotten by next week already. Hell even Bryce himself seemed alright with re-joining that infested agency with the very people trying to get him and kill him, he didn’t want revenge, or to bring them down, or nothing like that. Just a new name and some fresh missions to go have fun in another part of the world.
Yeah right, cause obviously people with access to CIA resources are going to stop and forget about that whole Intersect thing once they’ll learn that, you know, the guy changed his name. “God damnit, what can we do now ? He changed his name, we’re screwed! We can bring him back to life after he died, thanks to some European clinic, but changing name that’s like cheating!”
By the way, you know how I kept saying that Chuck’s data are getting older by the hour ? Well they are, and as such it would have been so easy for the bad guys to send some corrupted people to the exchange, people who were too fresh to be in Chuck’s brain. I mean whether or not they knew Chuck, they knew someone had that Intersect in their brain.
