And that’s how Traveler ends….

(S01E08) Well… it sucks. “It” referring to a couple of different things. Of course, the first thing “it” means is the end if the show. Sure it might not have been officially canceled, but really it’s as if.
I mean, while again (way) too many shows got canceled before they had a real chance to grow an audience, Traveler did air all the way. Only they’ve been cut off by 5 episodes, as originally ABC had ordered not 8 but 13 episodes ! No really, it is over.
But “it” also means, the way it did end. That last episode, well, sucked.
Let’s start with what happened during the episode, and well, quite frankly it wasn’t really good.
I mean, Will is, or was, an agent working for the government. An highly trained one, yet he didn’t know cops usually have a backup gun? She saw Will getting the cop’s radio, but still didn’t mention it (to use it against them, maybe) ?
Chambers working for Freed is BS. It really sucked. Because it was such a boring cliché to have the boss be the bad guy. Why couldn’t he have been the way he was all along just because of some previous conflicts, and pressure. To have him be the bad guy is as lame and cliché as to have Marlow be it. Only with her it really wouldn’t have made any sense whatsoever.
If it had to be someone, Borjes was the one.
Also it ruins so much. To have all the Chambers/Marlow fights all along have always been nothing but typical, internal cop fight would have been great. Turning it into a good cop/bad cop thing just ruins it.
So Will was able to get to Freed’s car that easy? And took down his driver, and kidnap him. Thank God he’s not someone like head of Homeland Security or something, right?
Though it was cool to see Will come clean, “dead father was to get Jay to identify with me“. Just like have him to “convince” them to follow him because, well, they want to fix things, was just nice.
Little thing, but I hate to see things like that : Will hijacks a car, makes it start, then tells Tyler to drive. And he gets in from the other side with no problem, because the door wasn’t actually locked, on the other side! Yes, detail, but details are important, too. And really, how hard was it to have Will or Jay unlock the door ?
