Last night ABC could still count on Dancing With The Stars to be the most-watched program of the night and make the Alphabet the winning network in total viewers (13.51 million), while on The Eye Two And A Half Men won the demo and made CBS winner of the night with 4.0
At 8.00 on CBS things were relatively consistent, The Big Bang Theory managing once again to have more viewers than its lead-out (9.36 million vs 9.14 million) while How I Met Your Mother, while down from last week’s 4.0, performed better on the demo (3.8 vs 3.6) Unfortunately, winner of the slot was Dancing With The Stars with a 3.9
On NBC Chuck was doing a little better, back to reaching 6 million viewers. Meanwhile on The CW Gossip Girl was back after two weeks, and slightly down with 3.34 million viewers and 1.6 on the demo, still very satisfying results.

Last night was all about sports, with Football on NBC - winner of the night on the demo - and Baseball on Fox - winner of the night in total viewers, though that’s only due to the half-hour football overrun at 7.00 which had no less than 21.84 million viewers and an 8.2 on the demo.
As for our favorite shows, at 8.00 Valentine managed to remain pretty stable and even improve on the demo (though 0.4 is in no way satisfying), and was the only MRC series to reach 1 million viewers (1.01 M). One hour later things were pretty awful for Easy Money going down with 300 000 less viewers than last week and merely 750 000 viewers still watching and 0.3 on the demo. Not good, no question there.

Well, it was a slow Friday for sure, when the most-watched network only get as high as 7.73 million viewers, and no program can reach 9.5 million viewers or do better than a 2.6 on the demon, you know it’s a Friday. A Friday full of disappointments for everyone.
At 8.00 Ghost Whisperer was slightly up since last week, and it was the most-watched program of the night, both in total viewers and on the demo, with 9.45 million viewers and a 2.6 on the demo. Everybody Hates Chris was down to 1.76 million viewers (thus losing about 300 000 viewers) while The Game managed to remain stable.
At 9.00 you can be sure that CBS exec morons are starting to wish they could bring back that little show called Moonlight back on the air as well. Winner of the slot was Deal Or No Deal on NBC with 800 000 more viewers than The Ex List had on CBS. The show was down 1.2 million viewers since last week with only 5.71 million viewers, where last year Moonlight would get about 7.1 million of them.

A big night of television last night, much to talk about. First things first, the winner of the night was with no contest CBS, winner of the night both in total viewers and on the demo thanks to a very strong start for CSI, most-watched program of the night. And obviously ABC came in second, no surprises there. What might be is that ABC was also second on the demo, and NBC was very close (4.0 vs 3.9)
At 8.00 Ugly Betty keeps going down, with only 8.48 million viewers (about 400 000 less than a week ago) but remained stable on the demo. On NBC My Name Is Earl was slightly up with 7.09 million viewers, leading in to the series premiere of Kath & Kim. I have yet to see how it looks, but one thing for sure is that it started pretty well : the show gained 350 000 viewers from My Name Is Earl, with 7.46 million viewers and a 3.2 on the demo (2.7 for Earl).

The Eye was a clear winner last night, being the only network to average over 10 million viewers with a shinny 13.09 million, while the closest was Fox and only 7.40 million ! Same thing on the demo, where CBS scored a 3.6 while Fox came next with 2.4
In other words, things are going well for CBS. New Adventures Of Old Christine scored a season high with 7.64 million viewers (about 700 000 more viewers than a week ago), though it stayed about the same on the demo. Lead-out Gary Unmarried was also doing better, 400 000 more viewers than last week for a total of 7.43 million viewers, and still performing better than its lead-in on the demo (2.3 vs 2.1)

Last night was (almost) all about politics, so there wasn’t much for us to look into. At 8.00 CBS kept a new episode of NCIS (while Fox decided to air a rerun of House) and logically the drama won the slot, being the most-watched program of the night no less, with 15.69 million viewers, which is still 1.5 million less viewers than last week. Oddly enough though, the show went up on the demo (3.7 vs 3.5), probably because there was no new House (the rerun “only” had a 2.6 and 6.33 million viewers total).
On The CW 90210 was also down, and despite a lighter competition the show still managed to lose viewers, though it remained stable on the demo. One hour later though things were better for Privileged, gaining about 400 000 viewers and getting back above 2 million viewers (and above 1.0 on the demo) Results are still disappointing for the show, but as illustrated recently (when a rerun of Privileged on Monday managed to get 1.54 million viewers and 0.8 on the demo) the show could probably do a lot better in a different slot / with a different lead-in.

Another big Monday night last night, and the winner are the same. Dancing With The Stars remains the most-watched program of the night and makes ABC a winner in total viewers, just like Two And A Half Men wins the demo and makes CBS the winner there.
On to the real stuff now: both CBS sitcoms were up last night, The Big Bang Theory managing to get more viewers (9.33 million) than its lead-in How I Met Your Mother (8.96 million), though the later was stronger on the demo (4.0 vs 3.6) On NBC things are far from doing so well, Chuck continuing its way down and passing below 6 million viewers (5.89 million) and down to 2.2 on the demo (from 2.6 last week) — I’m sure NBC would like to reconsider their full season pickup now…

Please note that due to an estimated half-hour football overrun at 7.00 all program results for CBS are approximate.
So last night was the big premiere, a there was something new on a Sunday night on The CW. Did you watched ? Were you curious as to what Media Rights Capital came up with ? I’m guessing no… The CW had even lowered results than they usually do an Sunday nights with nothing but reruns!
At 8.00 and forgetting about Sunday Night Football which was still a major hit, making NBC winner of the night on the demo (4.8), Extreme Makeover or Amazing Race - all going over 10 million viewers. Still an indication that all program were down, as last week NBC averaged a 5.6 on the demo.

Well, that was a bad Friday night in TV land, ratings-wise. CBS was unsurprisingly the most-watched network, averaging only 8 million viewers and 2.2 on the demo. The only program that didn’t disappoint was Ghost Whisperer, most-watched program of the night both in viewers as well as on the demo with 9.31 million viewers and a 2.5 — thus improving from last year’s season premiere, with 8.91 million viewers at the time.
At 9.00 was the series premiere of The Ex List, which I have yet to watch, and it wasn’t a good start at all. Despite a strong lead-in (for the night), the show dropped about two and a half million viewers, with 6.85 million viewers and a 2.0 on the demo. For the record, last season Moonlight premiered on September 28, 2007 with 8.54 million viewers, and (sadly) ended its run earlier this year (on May 16), after the strike and no support from its network, with still 7.47 million fans.

Last night was (almost) all about the Vice-Presidential Debate, which was a smashing hit, getting close to 40 million viewers at 9.00 ! While all network pretty much had the same to offer for a big part of the night, CBS still managed to come ahead of the competition while NBC was stronger on the demo.
At 8.00 before the debate, The Eye was already winning the slot thanks to Survivor and its 12.85 million viewers. On ABC Ugly Betty lost one million viewers since last week, down to 8.85 million and 2.6 on the demo (3.3 last week). Obviously that’s not good. On NBC things were better for My Name Is Earl, finally back with good/funny episodes.
