NumbersCBS comedy night is definitely doing wonders, there’s no question there. While it had a little less viewers than a week ago (-300 000) for its series high, The Big Bang Theory still did very well with 9.70 million viewers and 3.7 on the demo. And that led into a new high for How I Met Your Mother and 9.84 million viewers, and an excellent 4.3 on the demo.

Last week it was a tie, and this week - while and having almost 9.5 million less viewers - How I Met Your Mother beat Dancing With The Stars on the demo. Clearly things are doing well for CBS. On NBC it might not look it, but it was good news as well. Chuck had half a million more viewers than last week, and a new season high with 6.80 million viewers and 2.6 on the demo.

NumbersLast night CBS had another Football overrun at 7.00 resulting in the entire line-up delayed by half an hour. With that boost The Eye was the most-watched network with 16.59 million viewers, but the demo was won by NBC (5.8) thanks to a night of football, the only thing that still does well on NBC.

At 8.00 while CBS had the overrun did wonder in its favor and the Football performed high as well on NBC, the comedy night on Fox wasn’t really affected : The Simpsons were up 300 000 viewers with 8.52 million viewers and 3.9 on the demo, leading into King Of The Hill up 200 000 viewers, with 7.04 million viewers and 3.2 on the demo.

Friday’s Numbers [11.14.2008]

NumbersLast night was your typical Friday night, with only notable to fact that instead of a rerun of NCIS it was a special Price Is Right at 9.00 on The Eye, and that wasn’t a success. Also, if Ghost Whisperer is string on its own, Numb3rs can use a solid lead-in…

At 8.00 Ghost Whisperer had a new season high with 11.67 million viewers and a 2.9 on the demo !! Pretty great performance, to bad it got wasted to lead into Price Is Right Salutes The Troops which merely retained 7.31 million viewers, and 1.7 on the demo. Although at 9.00 that was the best performance on the demo…

Thursday’s Numbers [11.13.2008]

NumbersLast night had CBS winning the night both in viewers (14.55 million) and on the demo (4.1) thanks to an ever well-performing CSI, most-watched program of the night, while ABC came in second (11.24 million viewers, 3.9) with many thanks to Grey’s Anatomy, winner on the demo.

At 8.00 200 000 more viewers where there for Ugly Betty, with 9.20 million and a 2.8 on the demo, while My Name Is Earl finally (almost) reached 7 million viewers (6.99 million), something that hadn’t happen since October 9th ! The show was up, thus making the horrible Kath & Kim look ever worse, as the show only kept 5.08 million viewers on NBC (half a million less than a week ago). I’m sure NBC is happy that picked it up for a full season…

Wednesday’s Numbers [11.12.2008]

NumbersABC has been struggling with its Wednesday lineup, so lats night they could breathe a little and relax, as once again The CMA Awards ensured the Alphabet a night of success. Averaging 15.87 million viewers and a 5.0 on the demo, ABC was an obvious & happy winner.

Definitely Fox most underrated show, Bones didn’t bother the competition, and while the CMA Awards won the slot (15.40 million viewers, 4.5 on the demo) the show managed to grow and score a new season high, with 10.87 million viewers and 3.5 on the demo. On CBS things were up as well, New Adventures Of Old Christine with 6.88 million viewers and 2.0 on the demo, and an excellent retention for Gary Unmarried with 6.71 million viewers, and up with a 2.1 on the demo (but why??).

Tuesday’s Numbers [11.11.2008]

NumbersGreat night for CBS last night! The network was clearly the winner of the night, getting close to 16 million viewers overnight (15.8 million), and while beaten by the strong duo House/Fringe on the demo, The Eye still did quite well (especially before 10.00)

Things started all the better with the most-watched program of the night, NCIS, pulling 18.79 million viewers (4.0 on the demo), no less than a new series-high !! Way to start the night, but that didn’t impress the good cranky doctor of Fox, as House might have been down 300 000 viewers, it still was up on the demo scoring a very nice 5.5 — best performance of the night on the demo.

Monday’s Numbers [11.10.2008]

NumbersAfter Mondays with special programs due to elections or baseball, last night was finally a regular Monday, something we haven’t seen in three weeks. And in the end, results are pretty much the same for CBS and ABC, but both NBC and Fox are going down.

At 8.00 the CBS comedies prove once again how strong they are, The Big Bang Theory scoring a new series high and reaching 10 million viewers (10.01 million) for the first time ! In fact, during that first half-hour the comedy was also the number one show on the demo, as Dancing With The Stars only pulled a 3.8 by then. That led into How I Met Your Mother also doing very well, a little lower in viewers (9.71 million) but stronger on the demo (4.1)

Sunday’s Numbers [11.09.2008]

NumbersLast night was won by football, making CBS winner in viewers (14.60 million) thanks to an approximate half-hour football overrun a 7.00 (with about 24.20 million viewers and a 7.3 on the demo), while NBC won the demo (4.9) with their night dedicated to football, (one of?) the only thing allowing the Peacock to win something.

At 8.00 and after a special Halloween last week, things were back to normal on Fox, The Simpsons down to a more regular 8.16 million viewers and 3.9 on the demo - slight up compared to two weeks ago, leading into King Of The Hill with 6.79 million viewers and 3.3 on the demo, actually down 600 000 viewers compared to two weeks ago.

Friday’s Numbers [11.07.2008]

NumbersSeems CBS finally found what they could air on Fridays at 9.00 : a rerun of NCIS! One again The Eye won the night, as each of its program average above 11 million viewers and above 2.5 on the demo, while on other networks the best was 8.19 million viewers and 2.2 for 20/20 on ABC at 10.00 — the only program not on CBS to reach 2.0 on the demo.

At 8.00 the night started well for CBS with a season high for Ghost Whisperer with 11.05 million viewers and 2.8 on the demo, leading into a rerun of NCIS once again most-watched program of the night with 11.26 million viewers, though the demo went down to a 2.4 At 10.00 Numb3rs had slightly less viewers (11.21 million) but still got its new season high, and was up on the demo with a 2.6

Thursday’s Numbers [11.06.2008]

NumbersLast night even is CSI was down and Grey’s Anatomy up, and even if ABC medical-hit did win the demo, CBS was the big winner of the night. The network came first on viewers (13.75 million) but also on the demo (4.0), mostly because Survivor did much better than ABC’s Ugly Betty (3.9 vs 2.7)

At 8.00 Ugly Betty was actually up and getting close again to 9 million viewers (8.95 million), even if we’re still way below last season’s result (11 million). Meanwhile on NBC finally some good news, as My Name Is Earl was up 400 000 viewers (6.62 million) and, some for unexplainable reason, Kath & Kim was also up, with 100 000 more viewers. Still, 5.57 million viewers and 2.4 (2.7 for Earl) isn’t really good, but then again neither is the show.
