Wow, weird, Fox didn’t win lats night. What happened ?
Anyways, at 8.00 and for its season finale Ugly Betty didn’t do well, with a season low of 8.9 million viewers. Then came the first part of the “sandwich” NBC had cooked up for you. Turns out that many fans of good (scripted) television might have simply moved on to other things, because along with Ugly Betty, NBC show hit a season low as well (6.9 million).

Another night of Idol, another win for Fox. This time, they used it as lead-in to their latest reality crap, Moment Of Truth, and it worked perfectly! Keeping almost 87% of its lead-in audience, Fox’s new game was no less than the highest rated program of the season (23.2 million viewers, 10.2 on the 18-49 demo). Fox’s evil plan is working like a charm it seems…
But American Idol might be the most watched program of the night, its ratings are lower than last year, and every episode lost viewers compared to be one before, last night’s episode for example lost about 3.5 million viewers compared to the previous one. Maybe this is the beginning of the end ?

American Idol is still a huge hit, add to that a strong rerun of House (which won its slot, and was the second-most watched program of the night, after its lead-in) and Tuesday was another night for Fox, leaving any competition way behind. If you want to compare with last season, Idol is then loosing viewers, about 4.5 million of them.
Coming second at 8.00 was a rerun of NCIS on CBS with 12.2 million viewers. The rest were all way under 10 million.
At 9.00 as mentioned the rerun of House came first with 14 million viewers and a 5.0 on the 18-49, putting it second on both total viewers and the 18-49 over the whole night. Without Idol to compete with, According To Jim and Carpoolers did much better than last week (2.2 million more and 1 million more viewers, respectively), so did One Tree Hill on The CW with 400 000 more viewers.

This Monday and helped with their shitload of crap NBC won the night, while CBS - despite having lots of reruns - was able to beat Fox, helped with an always strong Two And A Half Men, even in repeat.
At 8.00 NBC came first, with 10.1 million viewers for American Gladiators, then ABC and 10 million for their Dance War. After that was the latest Prison Break, doing a little less good than last week (7.8 million) but still its average this season.
Now, what we all care about : Terminator. Well, it lost almost one million and a half viewers over last week, but still grew by close to a million viewers over its lead-in, so with 8.7 million viewers it did good. Not great nor really good, not as good as 24, usually on that slot, but good nonetheless.

What is there to say ? Fox is having a blast lately. First, there’s the strike which has emptied schedules of all other networks making a clear path for their new season of Idol, they also have the hit Terminator, and as this Sunday illustrated the football is going incredibly well too ! I’m guessing Fox exec are all getting super excited about the upcoming Superbowl…
What else to say ? Fox ruled the night, thanks to Extreme Makeover ABC managed to grab the second spot, and NBC tanked with their movie. Oh, and The CW is not doing well, I mean a repeat of Crowned did better than its lead-in, a new episode of Life Is Wild. Of course, none of them even got near 900 000 viewers…

A good Friday night for CBS, but all things considered it wasn’t that hard : they had a full night of new episodes, while other networks have nothing but reruns and unscripted crap. Once again, ABC had a confirmation that they’re drama don’t repeat well, from yet another Grey’s Anatomy to Desperate Housewives, ABC ended the night last for each hours, and came last both in total viewers and on the 18-49 demo. Yes, that means The CW and their Friday Night Smackdown did better.
At 8.00 Ghost Whisperer did well and was once again close to 10 million viewers. An hour later Moonlight did about the same as last week (8.3 million), and won it’s slot. Meanwhile Friday Night Lights lost some more viewers and was once again largely beaten by the rerun of House on Fox (5.4 vs 7.0 million). At 10.00 for its last episode of the season, Numb3rs didn’t attract any more viewers than last week, in fact it lost 100 000 of them. It still won its slot quite easily , though.
All numbers of the night below :

Not much on TV once more, and results of the strike are that the most watched program of the night was a rerun (CSI, 14.2 million).
At 8.00 Ugly Betty didn’t do really well, pulling 9.5 million viewers. That was 2 million less than the winner of the slot, Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?, but was enough to beat every other networks. Granted, they had nothing fresh to offer, as CBS, NBC and The CW were all airing reruns.

Another session of American Idol, another night for Fox.
At 9.00 the last episode of Comanche Moon did loose a few viewers from its second part, but not that much (100 000 viewers); meanwhile the somewhat rerun of Law & Order: CI lost 800 000 viewers since last week, still getting 8.8 million viewers away from Idol, which isn’t that bad I guess. Comanche Moon did better (12.1 million) but both performed the same on the 18-49 demo (2.4)

Quite obviously viewers did not try to send a (strong) message to networks, that they wanted the strike to end and their favorite shows to return. Instead, they all sat down and watched American Idol, most-watched program of the night with 33.2 million viewers, putting Fox way ahead of its competition for the night, including on the 18-49 demo where Idol scored a 13.8
Goes without saying that it remains the number one show in America, but it is still slowly loosing it, loosing over 4 million viewers compared to last season’s premiere (37.4 million).

This is really depressing. So I guess most people do not care about quality, nor do they really want their shows back on… There were five million more people watched the stupid Deal Or No Deal than watching Fox’s new hit show Terminator ! NBC’s game even came first on the 18-49 demo as well (5.0 vs 4.3)
Last night I said I was hoping for 12 million viewers for Terminator, and it didn’t get them. It “only” did 10.1 million, but it’s not that bad. For sure it’s an improvement over K-Ville, and it build on its lead-in, Prison Break, which did close to 8 million, making it a success. It is depressing to me, though, to think that there were more people watching a rerun of Two And A Half Men (11.5 million), than there were watching Terminator.
