Last night saw CBS winning the night thanks to its two hits that are NCIS and The Mentalist, and yet they didn’t won the demo, that went to NBC thanks to The Biggest Loser.
At 8.00 NCIS won the slot with 19.06 million viewers (-800 000) and 3.8 on the demo, while The Biggest Loser on NBC had over 8 million less viewers and still performed better on the demo with a 4.0 Meanwhile on The CW, 90210 was back with 2.41 million viewers (-500 000) and 1.4 on the demo.
An hour later The Mentalist proved once more it really is this season biggest hit (so far?) with a new series high and 19.56 million viewers (+200 000) watching, and a 3.9 on the demo — which was actually down, last episode scoring a 4.2

Not a whole lot to talk about when it comes to last night, except to say that CBS won the night thanks a rerun of NCIS - most-watched program of the night – and the Kennedy Center Honors Special which did rather well, though performed poorly on the demo. And it was NBC who won on the demo, with a rerun of Law & Order: SVU doing as good as the one of NCIS two hours earlier, only with 3.8 million viewers less.
As for actually new things, ABC had both a new According To Jim at 9.30 which merely got 3.77 million viewers and 1.2 on the demo, a clear season low, followed at 10.00 by a new episode of Eli Stone, which didn’t do much better – even though, well, it actually did do better – with only 3.81 million viewers (and lost 300 000 viewers from its first to second half-hour) and 1.2 on the demo. That was a season low for Eli Stone, which had never got below 4 million viewers before.

Except for a new Prison Break on Fox (and Momma’s Boys on NBC), last night was all about reruns, and they did pretty well — especially those on CBS, winner of the night.
At 8.00 is was all reruns, we’ll just note that the CBS comedies are still strong in reruns, winning the slot and beating a rerun of House on Fox both in viewers as well as on the demo. On a little less fun note, that rerun of House actually managed to pull 6.13 million viewers and 2.1 on the demo, better than what Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles has been doing with new episodes (and solid competition).

Sunday night was dominated by NBC and football, making the Peacock the most-watched net with 13.77 million viewers and a 4.8 on the demo. With still a couple of new episodes the Eye didn’t do too bad with 10.67 million viewers, but it was another story on the demo : only a 2.0 for the night, where ABC had 1.9 with nothing but reruns!
Nothing new at 8.00 so moving on, at 9.00 NBC had the slot with 16.94 million of viewers watching Sunday Night Football (6.0 on the demo), while Cold Case on CBS managed to pull 11.90 million viewers and a 2.3 on the demo. Things weren’t pretty bad for lead-out The Unit though, hitting a new season low with 8.20 million viewers (69% retention) and 1.9 on the demo (83% retention).

A tiny bit late, but here are finally the numbers of Friday night. It was pretty uneventful as it was mostly reruns but CBS, winner of the night in viewers as well as on the demo.
At 8.00 Ghost Whisperer was up with 10.24 million viewers (+500 000) and a 2.6 on the demo, making it the most-watched program of the night, and the only one to reach the 10 million mark. That led into a rerun of Numb3rs, which doesn’t repeat as well as NCIS or The Mentalist of course (7.79 million viewers, more than enough to win the slot), and then a new episode of Numb3rs, with 9.18 million viewers (-500 000) and 2.1 on the demo.

Not a lot of people at 8.00 watching TV, and if the CBS comedies won the slot in viewers they were actually down and got beaten on the demo by NBC’s Muppets Christmas, bringing The Eye down overall on the night. But the net was still a clear winner, with 11.92 million viewers while NBC, second in line, only had 6.52 million.
At 8.00 New Adventures Of Old Christine couldn’t do better than 7.47 million viewers (-800 000) and only 2.0 on the demo, and while down as well lead-out Gary Unmarried actually gained viewers from its lead-in (7.55 million viewers, -600 000) as well as improving on the demo (2.3) as always. On NBC the Muppets Christmas had 7.44 million viewers but a 2.4 on the demo, making it winner of the slot there.

Sunday was a pretty good night for Showtime, as both season finales of Dexter and Californication scored new highs.
The last episode of the third season of Dexter was followed by 1.5 million viewers in its first airing at 9.00, making it the network’s most-watched telecast since 2004. The episode was up 7% compared to last season’s finale (1.4 million) and 25% over the first season finale (1.2 million). The rerun at 11.00 added 491 000 viewers for the episode. This season the show averaged 1.1 million viewers on its initial run.
Meanwhile Californication was also doing well, ending its second season with 615 000 viewers, a season high. The rerun at 10.30 also drew 322 000 viewers.
Both series have already been renewed — Showtime ordered two more seasons of Dexter already, as well as a third season of Californication.

Another really good night for CBS last night, with all their shows hitting series high but Without A Trace, still hitting a season high! The Eye averaged no less than 17.89 million viewers while no other net would reach the 10 million mark, and yet NBC managed to do well as it tied on the demo with CBS and a 3.8
At 8.00 NCIS had a new series high with 19.86 million viewers and 4.0 on the demo, while The Biggest Loser on NBC had “only” 10.53 million viewers but performed as strongly on the demo.
