Forget the stupid videos of Chuck and his buddy trying to pass as cool nerds making videos for dating sites or I don’t know what, this is the shit!
Just like Reaper is a much better show than Chuck, their promo videos are much better too. Not only because they’re actually funny (hilarious I should say), but because instead of focusing on the geek/nerd they went with the Devil himself!
Oh yeah, that’s right, one of the characters in Reaper is no other than Satan, portrayed by Ray Wise. Brilliant. Just watch for yourself: (video after the jump)

The list of Emmy presenters for the upcoming ceremony incudes names such as almost host Hugh Laurie of House, Barney Stinson Neil Patrick Harris of How I Met Your Mother, Mary-Louise Parker of Weeds, Glenn Close of Damages, Mark Harmon of NCIS, Eva Longoria of Desperate Housewives, Anthony Anderson of Fox’s upcoming K-Ville, William Shatner of Boston Legal, Vanessa Williams of Ugly Betty or Mandy Patinkin Joe Mantegna of Criminal Minds.
But the one you should really be looking for, is Ali Larter of Heroes. Why? Well because she’ll do her hair on her own, without the help of a dozen of stylist, some chemists, magic potion and L’Oreal products. Instead the blonde actress has decided to “go real”, with the help of Dove Hair Care who claims that her approach is “an effort to inspire women to start loving the hair they have (rather than compare it to images of hairstyles that are not achievable every day)“.
How awesome does that sound? Yeah.. I know. Right!? You want to know more don’t you?
I bet you can’t wait for September 16th, 8pm, when the show will air on Fox. Right? Right?

Just a few days ago NBC announced their content would not be available on iTunes, and now the Wall Street Journal is reporting that Sony plans to launch a video download service to compete with iTunes.
And Sony might be better suited for the job that NBC an their hulu.com is, seeing how Sony - like Apple - has both hardware, with the PlayStation and Bravia television sets, and the content with, you know, Sony Pictures movies and TV shows. That’s not little.
But of course to succeed Sony will need help from others, they’ll have to sign distribution deals with other TV and movie producers. In the mean time, Apple is already there and one can buy content from many different sources, using iTunes. Not to mention that their iPhones are selling like crazy, as reports indicate that 1.8 percent of all phones sold in the United States during the month of July were Apple’s, which is the highest of any smartphone and equal to the sales of the LG Chocolate, the leading feature phone.
In the mean time, another tackle at iTunes made by NBC as they announced that they now plan to sell their content through Amazon Unbox. For sure this will be a boost for Amazon’s digital download store. After ditching Apple and their iTunes, they choose to go work with Amazon and their Unbox, because Amazon will let them adjust prices as they feel appropriate.
And, Amazon has a stronger DRM system. Read, it’s harder to use what you paid for the way you want to.

Apparently not everyone likes the pricing that are going on on the iTunes platform. Many rich execs in the media industry seems very frustrated with what they consider to be low pricing (Songs are sold for 99 cents, TV shows for $1.99 and movies for $9.99). Read, too low. Because it can never be expensive enough, when it’s not them paying.
And so NBC decided to stop selling their shows to iTunes, claiming that they wanted more security against piracy “since it is estimated that the typical iPod contains a significant amount of illegally downloaded material“, as well as “flexibility in wholesale pricing“.
Ok so everyone who has a iPod raise your hand. Now the cops can arrest you and send you to jail. Because if you have an iPod, is it estimated that you should have a “significant amount” of illegal material on it. How long before buying an iPod is consider act of terrorism and consumers are sent to Guantanamo? I wonder.

“It was great while it lasted.” This is probably what all fans of HBO The Wire will say soon. The Washington Post is reporting that creator David Simon has pulled the plug on the show. A long planned decision, made as soon as when the show started it seems.
Because Simon knew it from the moment he talked HBO into the show, he knew this is when and how it would come to a end. Ever since it started he had the whole thing planned ahead in his mind. Ever since in 2002, when the show debuted, Simon saw The Wire as a novel, a novel told as a TV series. This novel had chapters, or seasons as they’re called in the world of television.
Each season exploring a distinct aspect of the inner-city life, in Baltimore. The first season examined the drug trade ; the second focused on Baltimore’s longshoremen ; the third grappled with politics and the notion of reform ; the fourth dug into education and the lives of the city’s children ; and the final one, the upcoming fifth season explores the media, featuring a morally challenged reporter played by Tom McCarthy, who wrote and directed the indie film The Station Agent.

That’s right, before deciding to go for American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest as a host, Fox considered to naming some else for the job. And not just anyone, nor yet another stupid face, no the one who was - in fact - their original choice was no other that Hugh Laurie, Dr Gregory House himself.
That’s right, Laurie was considered for hosting the show, and was the original choice even. Not only that, but I believe he was the right choice - or at least, a much better one. But while some Fox executives were pushing for Laurie, others thought the “most logical choice” was Seacrest.

While promoting Heroes all over the world, as part of their pretentious “we’re the greatest show of all time ever” tour, actor Masi Oka, who plays Hiro Nakamura, said he enjoyed the reaction of french fans of the show, who had already seen it even though the show hadn’t aired on TV yet.
This is obviously possible thanks to the Internet, where you can find all show in high (HDTV) quality - in not in a shitty dubbed version - right after the episodes aired for the first time in the States.

I usually try to stay away from spoilers for shows that I watch, and really care about. This isn’t always very easy though, not so much because you have to resist while you are dying to know what’s gonna happen next. I can do that pretty good, as I believe knowing what’s gonna happen before I watch new episodes kinda ruins the fun and lower the level of excitement and surprise you get from experiencing it with a fresh, “clear” mind from any spoiler.
The problem lies more when reading articles that are titled like “Nuclear Bomb To Go Off Within First Four Episodes Of New Season Of 24″ ! I wish everyone would keep their lead-in or introductions as spoiler-free as possible, but FFS people keep your titles spoiler free at the very least! There’s nothing I hate more than having a show “partially ruined” because I read a headline that revealed too much.
Oh by the way, if you haven’t watched the season six of 24 yet, there was a huge spoiler in that title I used as example above. Although to be honest, if you haven’t watched Jack Bauer’s day 6, don’t bother : you’re lucky you avoided the worst season of the show ever, keep it that way.
But back on topic, The Office. (still spoiler free)

I’ll be honest, I haven’t watched any episode of The New Adventures Of Old Christine so far. I have no idea if it’s funny or not, I guess one might hope it is, as least a little, seeing it’s been renewed.
And while Jerry Seinfeld himself will be back on his old slot on NBC, guest-starring on Tina Fey’s 30 Rock, co-stars Jason Alexander and Julia Louis-Dreyfus will reunite when the former will guest stars in an episode of the new CBS sitcom, The New Adventures Of Old Christine.
I was gonna watch 30 Rock anyway, but that might be the occasion for me to see what Elaine’s new show look like…
