(S03E13) With the Superbowl coming up soon we’re having some kind of a football thematic on different shows lately (especially on NBC-owned networks like USA), but that is not what stands out and will be what’s remembered about this episode. No, what was a lot more important was that we finally got what we’ve been waiting for for quite some time now, a episode like we used to get in past season : one case, Lassiter & O’Hara on it, with the assistance of no other than Shawn & Gus.
For weeks and weeks it seemed writers didn’t want to get back to this usual ways of doing things, aways looking for ways not to really get that same old dynamic back, but they finally did this week, and that made for what can surely be referred to as one of the best episode of the season, no less. It had it all, pop cultures references, plenty of hilarious jokes, interactions with all the characters, and no stupid filler B-plot or anything like it.

(S01E12) This show has grown nicely, and now it seems we are getting week after week what we’re supposed to expect from this show. It is nothing spectacular or different, the show remains a simple procedural, but one that works well and isn’t restricted to one type of cases with the same development over & over again. Still, there are things that are bound to be repeated over time, similarities in the way each of their “investigation” will be conducted.
One of the thing that’s always there, and I think always has been from the start, is that by the end of the day, Hood will succeed. There isn’t always someone to save, it can only be a mystery to solve, but as soon as there is someone in immediate danger, some innocent victim that could die because of whatever scientific thing is happening, you can bet Hood will make sure no one dies.

(S04E13) There were some “misdirections” in this week’s episode of Supernatural. After the opening scene, one could have been wondering what the link to the usual universe the boys live in was, what would bring them here, because it didn’t seem to really involve any demonic force. Of course, there was something else at play here, and behind appearances there was work for our boys.
But that wasn’t all, because I think it would be very easy to see this episode as not bringing anything really new to the table. It wasn’t just a new case, we also had a few flashbacks along the way, but it didn’t feel like we were learning much about this brothers and the way they grew up. Let’s face it, we’ve seen them as little kids before, and we always knew what we saw there.

(S01E08) After a little break Life On Mars was finally back on TV, and that in its new slot right after Lost. And if you were one of those who happen to have watched the show last year, I believe you were in for some major disappointment. This is exactly the kind of thing that makes one hates TV, or the (main) network at least.
Because if you remember last episode, we left Sam obsessing over numbers of different files he had been working on, we left him entering some old house in the middle of nowhere, answering a phone probably not even plugged in, where a strange voice told him he was doing a good job, and now needed to go to the basement.
And I am sure the writers came up with a follow-up on that one, and if we didn’t get all the answers at least we got some of them, some clues, something, as ambiguous as it may be. But the thing is, we don’t know yet. Nope, because that episode this week, the one ABC decided to air as eighth episode of the season, that’s actually not it. From what I could find, the “real” episode 8 is actually The Dark Side Of The Mook and might be airing next week…

Shows: Life On Mars
In Series: Life On Mars Season 1

(S05E03) What I’m feeling right now as to be pretty close to the way I felt last year, watching season 4 of Lost. It’s really the same, you feel like you’re watching what might simply be the best season of the show to date. Only difference is, this time we’re not coming after a disappointing season involving tattoos and whatnot, this time we’re following what is the best season to date, an amazing and mind-blowing piece of television like rarely seen before.
And for them to manage not only to keep up with that level of greatness, but to actual go and improve it, really shows how fantastic this show is turning out to be. And if for a while people were worried about whether or not there was a master plan, whether writers were coming up with things along the way or had it all planned from the start, I think that now we can be sure that there’s a master plan, and at least with everything that happened since last season, there will be tie in, clues and things that will start to make sense or find a second meaning as we go along.

(S08E05) Alright, so this was to make me wrong I guess, as this episode did not feel like it had been written for much earlier on and then quickly adapted, as proven with the fact that since people were up to date with JD & Elliot being a couple again. And that’s all for the best, really, since we could be back to enjoy a “real” episode of Scrubs as we usually would.
An episode which only featured one of the new interns, and would you know it, it just happened to be Jo! I used to really like her already, but now after this episode I think it’s clear than JD picked the winner. I’m not saying the other interns will fail miserably and be easily forgotten (though that could happen, I mean what are their names already?) but Denise is without a doubt the best one of the bunch, with lots of potential for character growth, plus she’s freaking hilarious, too.

Shows: Scrubs
By fred | January 28, 2009
(S08E05) So… if you’ve been following this season of Scrubs, this episode might have felt somewhat odd and out of place, like it didn’t really belong there. Not that it didn’t feel like an episode of Scrubs, but it’s on the continuity side of things that it didn’t feel quite right. And after looking into it, I actually found out that it makes sense, because those weren’t supposed to air in that order.
This episode, My ABC’s, was apparently actually originally written as the season premiere, while the next one – My Cookie Pants – was meant to be the second episode. But instead, they decided to make some little adjustments both in those episodes as well as in My Jerks and My Last Words and to invert them, thinking (I guess) that the later were stronger episodes.
