I’ll be honest : I do not watch CSI, any of them. I used to, except for CSI: Miami cause that one sucks, but with time I kinda stopped because there’s a lot of things to watch and only so little time, and it just fall off of my list. I don’t think the shows suck, I will occasionally watch an episode, maybe, but I’m not a fan and I don’t really follow what’s happening.
But I heard last season of CSI was huge because Sara was leaving - in fact, her leaving might be the last episode I actually watch. Anyways, so she left as Jorja Fox wanted to move on to other things. And now William Petersen, aka Grissom, the star and soul of the show (to me), is leaving too.
Here’s the funny part though : for next season premiere, guess who will be back ??

Big shocking news : the lovely Kristen Bell will be returning to Heroes next season.
So, yeah, I know, it’s not really a surprise or even really new, we all knew it would happen, but it’s in the news, as it was confirmed she would reprise her role as Elle Bishop next season, for a multiple episode arc. Which means she’s no series regular, and maybe not even recurring given how long that arc will actually last. “I’m just happy to be electrocuting people again!” Kristen told People.
Now I don’t really care either way to tell you the truth, because last season sucked and I am confident this one will too, just like, as I said not so long ago, I’m sure neither Nikki nor Nathan will actually end up dead…
So why mention this in the first place ? I don’t know, it’s just an excuse to have a picture of Kristen Bell up I guess, cause that’s always nice.
Heroes returns on NBC September 22nd for its third season.

Remember that stupid Prison Break spinoff idea that was mentioned back before the strike and all, about re-doing the same thing as in the first season, basically, only within a female prison, but it’s even better with hot chicks fighting.
Well, apparently there will be no introduction of a character on Prison Break only so that she could get her own show, now they’ll simply do the other show, trying to brand Prison Break much like the CSI or Law & Order you see on other networks. Executive producer Matt Olmstead and co-executive producer Zack Estrin explained, “We had trouble casting for it (…) then the strike happened. By the time we resumed the season, we decided to scrap that idea of doing it that way. We’re in the homestretch of writing it. This is more like a CSI: New-York — more of a brand spinoff than a character spinoff.”
Oh yeah, I guess that changes everything… not. Since the working title remains “Cherry Hill” (possibly “Prison Break: Cherry Hill“) and, of course, it’s still set in a women’s prison. In other words, it’s the same thing only without seeing the future female lead first meeting with Michael in Prison Break. Who knows, maybe he’ll actually show up in Cherry Hill !

Okay… so here we are, the day the Earth saw the first act of Joss Whedon’s made-for-Internet musical Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog… well, for those who lives in the United States that is. That’s right, it’s the big day and I’m all excited to finally see this thing, and all I see is that stupid annoying message from NBC’s crappy “hulu” telling me that I can’t see nothing, because I’m not from the US.
UPDATE: Alright people, this mess has been fixed and it should now be available from anywhere !! I just saw it, and it’s all kinds of awesome! I love it, Neil Patrick Harris is the best, this thing is hilarious, and there’s not as much singing as I thought there would be. In fact, though I’m not usually a fan of musicals, here I kinda wish there was more singing. And that it lasted longer, damn this thing is way too short, no way it lasted 15 minutes, felt like 2; I want more!
Now that is a freaking stupid limitations, no matter what (I mean those retards at NBC sometimes even refuse to play just clips or promo videos of their shows, like they don’t want to even promote them outside of the US, though they might air there, and people can actually order (region 1) DVDs from anywhere in the world… but that’s not what we’re talking about today), but when it comes to his little musical, it’s just completely retarded!
I’m sorry, I’m sure Whedon is trying to do his best, but here’s a good advice then : stay away from NBC. No really, they might have great shows, somehow, but they are pretty awful when it comes to really support them or even promote them.

(S01E01) So that was on Friday, but I’m running a little late I guess. Also, I have to admit I wasn’t that excited about this new show, because it’s yet another cop-drama on CBS, and because the few promos I had seen didn’t really raised my hopes for this to be actually different, or good, or anything for that matter.
But I had to eventually catch up, and now it’s done. Flashpoint, which debuted with strong ratings, though it didn’t really had any competition, is quite different from the get-go, because it’s not happening in the US, but in Toronto, Canada. It revolves around the Strategic Response Unit (SRU), and was actually inspired by Toronto’s real-life Emergency Task Force.

Well, her character, Izzie, that is.
There’s been quite some talks when Heigl decided she didn’t want another Emmy because she felt she wasn’t given strong enough material this past season. Now whether or not you agree with that statement, to go as far as releasing a press release to slap producers/writers of the show, among others, right in the face as she did is not something to do.
Especially when those people are the ones responsible for her career going so well in the first place, and the Emmy she won one year ago. But all agree that Heigl did so because she feels she could become a movie star, based on the box-office success of her movies like Knocked Up or 27 Dresses, and she’d like to focus on the big screen. But she can’t, because she’s under contract with Grey’s Anatomy for a few more years.

We’ve already talked about the numbers for Thursday night, but not on cable. But the fact and the matter is, a cable network series did pretty well on the beloved 18-49 demo !
USA’s summer-hit Burn Notice was back for a second season, and its premiere episode averaged a 1.8 rating on the demo, and 5.4 million viewers. That’s a 35% gain in viewers (20% in the demo) compared to the series premiere last summer.
Not only that, but the show was right below ABC’s Hopkins in viewers (5.5 million), beating both NBC’s Last Comic Standing and CBS’ Swingtown ! And on the demo, Burn Notice was also on the second spot, this time behind only Last Comic Standing (2.2), beating again ABC and CBS.
Burn Notice scored a 2.2 on the 25-54, the second best score for a scripted cable series telecast in 2008, behind only the winter finale of another USA series, Monk, back in February (2.5)

One big week coming up - well, considering how slow things have been lately that is - with the premiere of HBO’s miniseries Generation Kill tonight at 9.00, the return of TNT’s The Closer & Saving Grace on Monday, a new series, The Cleaner, on A&E on Tuesday, and of course the season premiere of summer hit-comedy Psych on USA !! (And also, before it, Monk)
Generation Kill is a seven-parts miniseries based on Evan Wright’s book of the same name about his experiences as an embedded reporter with the 1st Reconnaissance Battalion during the Iraq war’s first phase in 2003. Wright worked on a consultant on the show.
The Cleaner is a new series inspired by the true story of a real-life “extreme interventionist”. The show stars Benjamin Bratt (Law & Order) as William “The Cleaner” Banks, who, after hitting rock-bottom from his own addictions after the birth of his daughter, has now gathered an unconventional team with whom he helps people get away from their addictions by any means necessary.
There should be enough to please everyone, as for myself I can’t wait for Friday and a new episode of Psych ! Of course in the mean time, we got plenty to chew :

So this is a shocker, or, you know, odd. According to numbers-guru Nielsen, who have surveyed about 82 000 people between 18 and 49, the beloved demographic, the most engaging network of all the ones out there, not only cable, is Bravo. That’s right, before of all the big four.
It seems 75% of Bravo viewers could answer correctly all queries relating to Bravo’s programming, while for CBS only 74% could do the same, 73% for ABC, 71% for The CW, 70% for NBC and 69% for Fox.
Now what? Well, nothing really, but I have to say I find that number a bit surprising. Now, what could possibly explain such results ? I few ideas, on top of my head…
- First, Nielsen is just so wrong at getting people that actually truly represents the global audience, and once again they got things wrong. There are actually a lot more people watching Jericho or Gossip Girl that Nielsen like to say, and also those guys are a lot more engaged than the other viewers, I mean, they know exactly how many times Hurley said “Dude!” on Lost ! (Something like 214 times as of There’s No Place Like Home, Part 1 I hear - not that I counted)

Okay, quick look at the numbers for Friday, since CBS had the series premiere of Flashpoint - still sitting on my DVR.
Did you watch it ? Was it good ? As I said I still don’t, but it was good for CBS - winner of the night both in viewers and on the demo, and that’s clearly thanks to the Flashpoint. The show didn’t just win its slot, but was the most-watched program (in viewers as well as on the demo) of the night, with 8.1 million viewers and 1.9 on the demo.
Clear winner, growing from its lead-in, performing better than anything else on TV that night, so far it’s a pretty good start for the show. It should also be noted that it improved (by ~200 000 viewers) between its first and last half-hour, which is never a bad sign. Of course we’ll have to see how things do next Friday, for the second episode.
