(S04E13) This wasn’t the last episode of the season for The Office. No, we’re lucky enough to have some more of it next week, for a season finale of one hour. And, given how it comes after the strike and I’m sure writers have plenty of stuff in mind, and of course it is the bug season finale, it should feel a lot more like one great episode, only longer, like the last one of the hour-long episode we’ve had in the past, and not like those before that.
Anyways, this was not the finale but it was an episode that put things in place, getting everyone and everything ready for a big show down next week, one that will address many of the issues we’re all dying to find about. But don’t get the wrong impression : yes, this episode was about setting this up for next week, but no that doesn’t mean it wasn’t any good, in fact it was really good, pretty awesome, and damn hilarious, too!

In Series: The Office Season 4

(S02E15) This is only episode 15, but in this very unusual season this will be the last episode for 30 Rock, this was its second season finale already. Now does that mean anything when it comes down to this show, which has never really been like any other show around. Well, let’s not spoil everything right away and first look at where we were, because many many things have be set in motion until now.
Jack has always been the emblematic boss of NBC and Liz’s confident, but things that weren’t supposed to happen did happen and now he’s out. In fact, he’s already taken a job to work for the government. Meanwhile one thing all fans still have on their mind is the famous porn video game Tracy has been working on for a little while. This is the finale, so are we getting resolution on those stories ?

Great news everyone : It should be confirmed soon (during the upfronts) that ABC has renewed the great Eli Stone for a second season !
As you probably know if you’ve read my reviews of the first season of Eli Stone, though it took a little while for the show to really find its tone, it never stopped improving episode after episode and by the end of the season Eli Stone had turned into one of the best new shows of the season. Therefore, I am thrilled that it will come back for a second season.
Sadly if you liked Women’s Murder Club, and as stated before, there was no way the two shows would both come back, the network made its choice and so ABC canceled Women’s Murder Club. And if you ask me, that was the right decision, no question.

* Another very heavy Thursday night coming up, one during which we’re saying (temporary) goodbyes to two shows, no less !
* At 8.00 on ABC we have a new Ugly Betty
* While on The CW there’s a new Smallville, with still a few characters, enjoy it while you can!
* And of course on NBC it’s comedy night ! And we open with a new My Name Is Earl as usual
* Half an hour later, it’s already time for the season finale of Scrubs. It is the very last episode of Scrubs on NBC. Of course it’s still a secret, even if everybody knows it, but next season the show will be back… on ABC.
* At 9.00 on ABC we have a new Grey’s Anatomy !
* On CBS it’s time for the famous episode of CSI written by the writers of Two And A Half Men.
* On The CW comes another installment of the great Supernatural
* While on NBC we continue the comedy night with a brand new episode of The Office
* Followed at 9.30 by the season final of 30 Rock. Will Jack really work for Bush ? Will he come back to NBC ? Can he use the government to sale GE microwaves ?
* At 10.00 CBS have a new Without A Trace
* NBC ends its night with a new episode of E.R.
* But what we’re all waiting for comes on ABC, with a brand new episode of Lost !! Last week was all about putting pieces in place, so now…
* Make sure your DVRs are all set and ready, go!

Not that Smallville is actually still as good as it once was, I mean let’s be honest : recent episodes have showed incredible lack of creativity, use and abuse of cliché-plots, not to mention product placement turned into full plots for entire episodes that looked more like bad commercials… with the lack of parents for Clack, and pretty much nothing actually taking place in Smallville anymore, clearly the show isn’t what it used to be.
But it could be a lot worse, oh yes it could : it could be next season.
It’s already known that for its eighth season, Smallville will have to do without its creators, who recently left the show. To go along with that, Lana will only be seen for a few episodes (not that it’ll make much of a difference, or that she’d be missed…) and the still-alive Luthor will be gone just like his father (except he won’t actually die), so Clark won’t even have his nemesis no more.
And now, rumor has it that Allison Mack’s very own Chloe could be leaving as well !

We might be right in the middle of the May Sweeps, but that doesn’t mean there are more good stuff on, nor does it mean that more people are watching. This season has been seriously hurt by the strike, and I think it clearly shows. So when you hear that the AMPTP are pulling the same crap again, walking out of negotiations with the SAG and pretty much daring them to strike, you have to wonder : do they even want to have viewers ?
At 8.00 it was pretty much a tie between Deal Or No Deal on NBC and The Price Is Right on CBS both about 7.6 million viewers, though NBC won on the demo (not by much). The fact that those two shows were the most watch programs of the slot is already bad enough, but to see that the number one show on the demo was on ABC, Wife Swap, with 7.0 million viewers and a 2.5 on the demo, well…
Back To You usually does better but it was down this week from a 2.5 to 2.0, while loosing 100 000 viewers.

Shows: Back To You, Criminal Minds, CSI: New-York, Law & Order
By fred | May 8, 2008
(S03E18) Criminal Minds is one of those shows with a (relatively) large cast, and one where there isn’t really a main character. It’s not uncommon for shows to place one of their characters at the center of the show, to make it the lead; take House for example. But not here - and to be clear, not that it’s a bad thing. Either way you can have some really good shows.
Also here, there’s no “real” lead, no central character that is or makes the show. This has nothing to do with the show loosing its “main” star earlier this season, because even when Gideon was there, he wasn’t the one the show was about, Criminal Minds never was about Gideon solving cases, with the help of his team. It was always team work, they have all, always, been an essential part of the team, and the show.

Lost is not your regular TV show. As any fan will tell you, it is so much more than just a TV show, and even if you’re not completely obsessed with it, even if you don’t spend hours watching each and every episode frame by frame just in case you missed something, there’s one thing every viewer of the show will agree : you do not watch an episode, turn off the TV and move on to something else.
It sticks with you, and even if you’re not ready to write a book about your big theory that could explain everything that’s going on in Lost, you have thoughts, theories, ideas, and questions. Lots and lots of questions. But those questions, and trying to come up with answers, theories, anything that could make sense, is part of the great experience of watching Lost, it’s what makes this show so unique.
Today, I want to talk about one of those theories, or ideas. It’s a funny thing, because I’m not sure I really believe in it, but I thought of it, and it’s been on my mind ever since, and I just have to share it with you, so you can all call me crazy, or - who knows - go crazy yourself and wonder, too, what if it wasn’t that crazy…

We all know already that Gossip Girl has been renewed for a second season, but according to E! Online’s Kristin Dos Santos there’s even more reasons to be happy about it : The CW should announce in the upcoming Upfronts that the second season will have no less than 24 episodes, to make up for the episodes we missed this season due to the infamous writers’ strike.
Even better : if you love Georgina Sparks, you’ll be happy to know that the gorgeous Michelle Trachtenberg will be added as series regular next season. I have to say that while I like G so far, I’m not sure how it would work to have her all the time. One of the reason her character works so well is that you know she’s crazy she doesn’t care about anything she might leave anytime, and will probably disappear tomorrow or the next day.
That said, I’m all for a big fight between G and B. Not to be hard on Little J, but as B told her, she put up a good fight, for a freshman. Now B needs a real challenge, and G might just be it. Don’t you think ?
