(S01E26) Monday, usually Paul welcomes Laura in his office. This is how things went down for him in the past year, and we’ve witness the last few weeks of it. And, of course, this was what was going to happen this week again, we knew that and never doubted it, it’s the magic of television. But last week, Laura did say that it was her last time, her last week here, with Paul. She said she couldn’t do it anymore, she needed to stop it and wouldn’t see Paul after she left.
Then she left, and we all knew that somehow she would be back no less than one week later, as usual. And it wasn’t really hard to justify this after all, not because of the relationship that developed between Laura and Paul over the years, not just that, but simply because she’s not just attracted to damaged people but is also one of them herself.

Last Tuesday, NBC was proud to “experiment” by putting on the air a show coming from the Internet, quarterlife. The show had already been available for free on Internet and its move to a big network was a huge failure, since according to Reuters with 3.1 million viewers the show had the “worst time-period performance in at least 17 years” on NBC, no less!
Only one episode aired on NBC, at 10.00 last Tuesday, and though it was planned to come back the following Sunday it did not, NBC took it off before another dramatic run. And surprisingly creator Herskovitz wasn’t really pissed at NBC, admitting that he now knew the show wasn’t made for it, and explaining that NBC’s fault was just to buy the show in the first place!
But the show isn’t going to stay away from the TV screen for long !

* First off, apologies for the lack of Breaking Bad mention today, things got messed up and I don’t have it. Haven’t seen it yet, I’m sad, it really hurts inside, I hope to see it very soon though and I’ll review it then…
* To get me thinking of something else, tonight is a big night for all sci-fi lovers out there, and a sad one at the same time. Starting one hour earlier than usual, at 8.00 on Fox they’re back in a new episode… Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles !
* Not only one, but two, two episodes ! The two last episodes of the season back-to-back tonight, for a season finale coming in sooner than expected (due to the writers’ strike), but I’m sure it’ll be great, and Fox better renew this show for a second season cause we’ll be pissed if the don’t, am I right!?
* In other news, at 8.30 CBS is still trying with a new Welcome To The Captain ; and after a break for a rerun, at 9.30 comes a new episode of New Adventures Of Old Christine
* 9.30 is also time for a new In Treatment on HBO. Mondays are Laura’s sessions, I wonder how & “why” she’ll come back…
* Also, at 10.00 on ABC your have a new October Road while on NBC you have a new Medium

The CW just announced early pickups of six series today, some of them I couldn’t care less (America’s Next Top Model) and some of them I couldn’t be happier about (Supernatural).
Yes, after a few more episodes this season (4 episodes starting April 24), the Winchester brothers will be back for another season of Supernatural ! This is the best news of the bunch. We also learned that newcomer Gossip Girl, which is also coming back this season for a few more episodes (5 episodes starting April 21), has already been renewed for a second season. Being a guilty pleasure of mine, I’m happy about this one as well.

Sunday night was all for ABC. With an always good performing Extreme Makeover and the help of Oprah, the Alphabet had no trouble winning the night, both in total viewers and on the 18-49 demo. (Note however that, as good as those crap did, the combo Desperate Housewives / Brothers & Sisters do better, go scripted!)
At 8.00 Fox should have had The Simpsons, but NASCAR run in late and, therefore, all ratings for the network are subject to change. For now, it looks like The Simpsons had 7.9 million viewers, making it the most-watched show of its slot, right after ABC and their 14.8 million viewers of course.

(S01E01) So as announced last night, this Sunday on Fox premiered a new sitcom produced by no other than the Farrelly Brothers (There’s Something About Mary), who also directed this episode. And when I talked about it last night, I had only seen a couple of promo clips released by Fox, trying to make us want to watch the show. Sadly, though, those were absolutely horrible and unfunny. Which, for a sitcom, is like the worst thing possible ever.
Yet I went into this one with an open mind, ready and willing to enjoy it, should it be any good. I was hoping that maybe it was just that a bunch of morons over at Fox decided to select a few clips from when the show is not working, when it’s anything but funny, and to use such moments as promo clips because, well, they’re morons. This sounds like a very improbable scenario, it really does, and after watching the episode I think that I can say it : Fox people are morons.

(S06E10) It’s been a while since we saw a new Family Guy, and I was sure happy to get to see one ! This show, like so many others, has been away for our screens for a little while now, and I’ve missed it and the many laughs it usually generates.
For this little comeback, the show offered us a somewhat “special” episode. It wasn’t anything really new or that we hadn’t seen before, but this episode once again featured only a selection of characters, leaving others (almost) unseen, and also had one main story to make the entire episode. In the past, this is something that resulted in pretty awful results, and disappointing episodes. Thankfully, this time was different.

* A new week is starting, and it will see a few shows premiering, starting tonight, as well as some saying goodbye, starting tomorrow.
* At 8.00 Fox has is comedy night back, stating with a new episode of The Simpsons, followed by a new King Of The Hill
* Meanwhile The CW welcomes its sitcoms as well, with new Everybody Hates Chris and Aliens In America on. Too bad it’s not good, or funny…
* At 9.00 things are still going on Fox, with a new Family Guy
* An on HBO there’s a new The Wire
* At 9.30 it looks like the comedy stops on Fox, as new sitcom Unhitched premieres. No, I haven’t seen it yet, and I will watch it, but the few clips I’ve seen of it were terrible, really really bad. And so not funny. Videos after the jump.
* Thank God the night is saved anyway, because at 10.00 AMC has a new Breaking Bad !

(S01E24+E25) As you may know, I’ve said I wouldn’t really watch the Thursdays and Fridays sessions anymore. So guess what I did watch this week-end ? Exactly. I just felt like seeing how hings would go o after what we witnessed during the first three days of the week, and I was especially curious in what would happen on Friday, what Paul goes to see his own therapist, after the whole Alex incident.
I still watched the Jake & Amy episode first, I guess because of the way things ended last week (since, yeah, I had watch last week also) but I really don’t care about those and their problem. As far as I’m concerned, a divorce would be a good idea for them.

Since there wasn’t much on on Friday, I’m not sure there’s a lot to say. Results are somewhat like last week, with CBS winning the night. Although, unlike last week, not one network was able to go over 2.0 on the demo.
First in line for CBS was The Price Is Right, the most-watched program of the night, and one of the few to go over 2 on the 18-49 demo. Things were tougher for Fox though, with both reruns of Bones and House being less watched than a week ago : 600 000 less viewers for Bones, close to a million less for House ! Not only that but House did not win its slot, the rerun of Ghost Whisperer on CBS was slightly more watched, and the rerun of House was down on the demo (2.8 last week vs 2.1 this Friday) so Fox couldn’t win the night on the demo, CBS managed to came first.
