How I Met Your Mother is a great show. It really is, it has been for a few years now and it always done well. More importantly for us, TVoholics and fans of the show, it is hilarious ! HIMYM comes with its own style, its own unique way of telling a story, writers of the show greatly mix past, present and future and have created a show that is unlike any other, and that really is hilarious.
I love the show, and so does many others. Sadly, execs at CBS aren’t on that list it seems. And so the show is one of those who never seems to receive the love it deserves, and the latest examples of this are that, as reported previously, CBS renewed lots of new series recently, but How I Met Your Mother isn’t one of them.
They did not renew this great and well established show, yet they renewed freshman The Big Bang Theory.

Shows: How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory

(S02E02) Last episode was pretty special, if only because it was the first one of the new season, a season that was “not supposed to happen”, not according to CBS. But fans fought for it, because they love the show that much, and a mini-season of 7 episodes have eventually been ordered by CBS. That isn’t much, but it’s better than nothing - especially since there’s hope for a third season after wards. (Well, there would be if more people actually watched… Damnit people, tune in, this show is really good!)
In the mean time, the creative minds behind the show took care to cook some pretty great season to please the fans, and while I said last time that the show had a somewhat different “tone” to it, that things had evolved from the previous season, and that at first I was even “shocked”, almost not fully recognizing the show (okay that’s a bit much…), there’s no doubt that Jericho is back, fully back, stronger & better than ever!

In Series: Jericho Season 2

Soon after the strike we’ve had list based on rumors and what should happen, but since then a few networks have made official announcements, so it seems a good time to go over it all and make a new list.
Following is a list of when your favorite shows will return, as well as for how many episodes when such info is known, and none of this is based on rumors or what’s likely to be, but what will be, so you can start marking your calendars : (unless networks change their minds, of course…)

(S01E16) I’m not a fan of this new show, and there are already some days I think I’m dropping (Thursdays & Fridays), because they are more boring than anything else. There’s simply some stories I don’t care about, and the common link between all those stories is, of course, Paul, the therapist of the show. But even there, quite frankly, it’s not interesting.
I’ve made no secret that I don’t really like Paul, who I believe is a pretty bad therapist, as well as a real jerk. Oddly enough, it’s part of the fun I get from the Mondays’ and Tuesdays’ sessions : witnessing how much he suck at his job.

Shows: In Treatment
In Series: In Treatment Season 1
By fred | February 19, 2008
With a real strong Deal Or No Deal watched by almost 17 million people (and a 5.2 on the 18-49 demo), NBC was a clear winner of the night. Somehow all its reruns didn’t prevent, or helped even, the Eye to beat Fox in total viewers, but of course Fox performed stronger on the demo.
At 8.00 was the season finale of this pretty awful third season of Prison Break, maybe even the series finale, and it was only watched by 7.4 million fans, half a million less than last week. Still it’s about the average for this season anyway, and with a 3.1 on the demo nothing says Fox has buried the show already.
New “comedy” Welcome to The Captain is already in trouble, which isn’t surprising since the show isn’t funny. After a premiere followed by 8.1 million people two weeks ago, the show only drew 5.5 million viewers back last night. And I wouldn’t be surprised if this was only the beginning of the fall…

(S01E06) As I said before, this show might not be the greatest of all on TV, and it’s got flaws, but it’s a really cool show. It’s really fun to let yourself go into the “Terminator universe” for one hour every week, and so far there hasn’t been one episode that was really a let-down, that would be highly disappointing. Little things that don’t make sense or get annoying, sure, but overall it’s till fun.
This week was a very special episode, and it brought things to another level as everything got a little more complicated, but I really enjoyed it ! The show is cool, has some pretty nice special effects, but there’s also a story filled with so many time paradoxes you better not even try to list them, and it’s still all nothing but fun !

Shows: The Sarah Connor Chronicles
In Series: Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles Season 1

(S03E13) This is it, the last episode of Prison Break. Well, nothing has actually been officially decided for the future of the show, but as far as we know as of today, this was for sure the season finale, there won’t be any more episodes added (the show isn’t going back to production now that the writers’ strike is over). That doesn’t mean this is the end of everything, there could be a fourth season.
It could happen, should Fox renew it. It hasn’t been done yet, and this was without question the weakest season of the series so far, both in ratings as well as creatively - not that people at Fox were about that anyways. I won’t make any guesses, but don’t torture yourself over the unanswered questions you have, cause you may very well never get any answers.
And yes, there’s a few of those questions.

Shows: Prison Break
In Series: Prison Break Season 3
By fred | February 18, 2008

* Couple of good stuff to watch tonight.
* I’m a little ashamed to say it, but I’m kinda excited about the new Prison Break (at 8.00 on Fox) tonight. Sure, there’s plenty of problems and stuff that don’t really work, but we’re used to it now. But they finally broke out of Sona, things are finally moving on, it’s like watching the show again, and not some stupid boring crap where nothing ever happens. Too bad this is the last episode completed before the strike, so… season finale? series finale? who knows?!
* Should I even mention the new Welcome To The Captain at 8.30 on CBS ? How come this hasn’t been canceled already, it should never have been put on the air to begin with…
* At 9.00 the big plate, on Fox : Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Flawed, but cool. Can’t wait to see what’s coming next…
* At 9.30 CBS has a new episode of New Adventures Of Old Christine, still haven’t checked this show out, and it still hasn’t been renewed.
* Same time but on HBO, Laura is back for a new In Treatment !
* At 10.00 on ABC October Road continues to slowly die, and a new Medium show up on NBC

Oh crap! It seems we may get a new Knight Rider series after all… No, NBC didn’t win the night in total viewers, ABC came first thanks to their Extreme Makeover, but NBC was not far away, and - thanks to Knight Rider - was a winner on the 18-49 demo.
At 8.00 The Simpsons couldn’t reach 8 million viewers, not too good yet they had 200 000 more viewers than the last new episode. This is a trend for the entire animation comedy night on Fox - Family Guy barely had 7.2 million viewers - and it shows one thing : networks exec are morons. They thought that keeping new episodes in the can and putting out one episode from time to time would get the same amount of people to tune in each time a new episode showed up, because it’s new.
Instead, people just went away as reruns were everywhere, and since the strike was still going they never return for the occasional episode networks throw at them when they felt like it. In the end, networks blew it and make lost viewers. I could have told them this would happen before they engaged in the stupid thing, anyone who watches TV, or with a brain, could have. Morons…
