Tonight On TV

* We’re here, Thursday , the big TV night. Networks are still on post-strike mode, though, and there’s nothing at 8.00

* At 9.00 things are really serious though. On The CW first, where we have let’s call it the “mid-season finale” of Supernatural, the last remaining episode of those completed before the strike, and it should be a great one (like all the others). It won’t be a season finale as was originally feared though, since the show is heading back to production soon, and will come back on the air Thursday, April 24 with 4 new episodes to put a definte end to this season.

* And of course, the main event of the night is a new episode of Lost !! I can’t wait to see it, this season in nothing but fantastic and I’m loving every minute of it. After Charlotte I recently talked about how Dan probably knows a lot more than he likes to show as well, now that the two of them are reunited hopefully we’ll learn a little more about what’s going on…

* At 9.30 has every day HBO has a new In Treatment

* Finally at 10.00 on ABC comes a new episode of Eli Stone

* While NBC has a new Lipstick Jungle

In Treatment: Sophie - Week Four

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | February 21, 2008

In Treatment(S01E18) Before I (finally) got to watched this new episode, I was just thinking about how, to me, this session, the Wednesday session with Sophie, is a very different one than any others. It’s probably the only one I can watch, and actually look at Paul as a potentially good therapist, as someone who can help.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that Sophie is still a teenager, and it makes for Paul to actually behave differently than he does otherwise, and maybe it’s just all about Sophie and who she is, I’m not sure. But if I like the Mondays with Laura, I do because I somehow find the whole situation to make me laugh, and by that I do mean that I’m laughing at Paul. Tuesdays aren’t so fun, Thursdays are most definitely a mess, and Fridays annoy me.

Cancellation roundup!

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | February 21, 2008

Nestor CarbonellNow that the strike is over, lots of shows are (finally) getting canceled, more or less officially, on every network.

* I’ll start with one that actually really pleases me : CBS has canceled Cane. The show is done, and I’m happy about this because it could be good news for Lost ! I’m happy not because I thought the show wasn’t good, even though that’s true, but because I sure hope that now Nestor Carbonell can find its way back to Lost, because we need to find out more about the never-aging Richard Alpert !

* Still no official word yet from NBC, but according to different sources from Michael Ausiello the Peacock has finally decided to put crappy Bionic Woman to rest.

Wednesday’s Numbers

Alright… so there wasn’t much on TV last night, and Fox once again had a new American Idol, so it’s pretty much like Tuesday : all other networks combined couldn’t even start to intimidate Fox and its 28.7 million viewers overnight!

At 8.00 while Idol was heading towards 30 million viewers, no one could each 9 million viewers, Deal Or No Deal coming second with only 8.9 million viewers. An hour later Idol was now over 30 million viewers, and on the second place we were down to 7.7 million viewers for Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Saturn Awards Nominations

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | February 21, 2008

Saturn AwardSaturn Awards Nominations have been announced, and it looks like there’s a general feeling that they got things right, as Lost is leading nominations receiving no less than 8 nominations. Much deserved, given how this season is nothing less but amazing!

Let’s also mention a couple of nominations for NBC’s canceled-too-soon Journeyman, starting with one for Best Network TV Series, and no less than 3 nominations for Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Doesn’t mean they got it all right though, because to give 5 nominations to Heroes sounds really wrong, to give it a nomination for Best Network TV Series is complete bullshit!

Lost: Another Look At Dan’s Experiment

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | February 20, 2008

LostIf you hear people still complaining that Lost is boring, keeps throwing new mysteries to get things more confusing, always brings up new questions never giving out answers, if anyone is still claiming that writers (probably) have no idea what’s actually going on on that Island, it’s not complicated : either they’re basing their opinions on what they last saw of the show, back during season 2 or early season 3, or they’re morons.

Lost has never been as good as it is these days, this season looks like it’s going to be the best one we ever had, and one thing for sure is that we are getting answers. Of course they come with new questions and mysteries, but the feeling is much different when you can feel that they do know the answers, they do know where they’re going with this, and did I mention we keep getting lots of answers ?!!

One major one of those answers, or new questions, came from that little experiment our new friend Dan conducted.

In Treatment: Alex - Week Four

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | February 20, 2008

In Treatment(S01E17) New day, new patient for Paul. That’s how it goes. And as every Tuesday this time was time for a new session for Alex. And again, if it was I may have been interested in his stories, this has passed now. Now the only reason I’m still watching on Tuesdays is to see how the whole story with Laura will play out, but other than that I don’t care.

As a result, I don’t enjoy those sessions that much, and I realized as I was watching this one that I get bored at times. When Alex goes back to his own problems, to his fear to trust Paul or any of that, I really don’t care. And truth be told, while he still had stories to tell, this time I really didn’t care.

Tuesday’s Numbers

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | February 20, 2008

Oh crap. Okay so at this point it’s almost official : Jericho won’t get a third season.

There’s really not much to say about last night : American Idol was watched by almost everyone, the rest struggled to exists. Fox was watched by more people than all other networks combined, and won the night, hands down, in both total viewers as well as on the 18-49 demo. Not much at 8.00, about the same an hour later, and the numbers are pretty much the same as last week.
