Lots of move behind the scenes of quite a lot of shows these days…
* First Josh Reims left ABC new drama Dirty Sexy Money and was replaced by Daniel Cerone. This was a planned move, and don’t expect any major change initiated from Cerone. “Since the pilot, I felt like the show had some of the best potential for storytelling and exploration of characters both on the light and the dark side. (..) It’s more about keeping all the best elements and adding as much intrigue, drama and danger as we possibly can.”
Cerone, who was co-executive producer on Dexter, won’t be alone to try to turn the show into a really good show - not that it’s bad, but I always felt like it’s missing something to really be good - as he’ll be working with creator Craig Wright (Lost), Greg Berlanti (Brothers & Sisters), Matthew Gross and Bryan Singer (House).
Dirty Sexy Money won’t be coming back this season, but ABC already ordered 13 episodes for a second season.

Okay so maybe I’m a little late on this one, but not so much. And it’s totally worth it, so who cares!
As you probably know it was no other than The Daily Show’s very own Jon Stewart who hosted the latest Academy Awards, and while Stewart himself may not have been really bad, the show itself kinda was, and one thing for certain is that it was the least watched ceremony in the history of the Oscars, no less. No show had ever had less than 30 million viewers, while on Sunday The 80th Annual Academy Awards averaged “only” 29.2 million viewers.
This was a perfect occasion for Jon Stewart, back on The Daily Show, to have a little analysis, brought to you be hilarious Hollywood Correspondent John Oliver, about the Oscars’ “low” ratings and Jon’s performance. It was awesome, really hilarious, I loved it, I hadn’t laughed so hard in a while !!
If you’ve seen it, you’ll want to see it again. If you missed it, you’ll love it.

(S01E22) This is Tuesday’s session, the one with Alex. And before going in that one, I have to admit that things weren’t looking so good. Last week I already stated that I didn’t really care for Alex and his stories, his life, his problems… While at first his whole “I was dead for 2 days” bit could have grabbed my interest, I’ll admit it, soon it all vanished and the only reason that kept me interested was Laura.
Alex got involved with Laura, who’s not really involved with Paul but without a doubt she wishes she could be, and so does Paul even though he won’t admit it as he even recently recognized. But yesterday, Laura told the big news to Paul : she ended things with Alex, there’s not seeing each other anymore. So of course, learning that, I started to fear for my interest in the Tuesday’s sessions…

Shows: In Treatment
In Series: In Treatment Season 1

With the strike over, it was announced that many shows, starting with Lost, would go back to production asap to add a few episode to their current season. We then learned that five more episodes would be added to the currently airing season 4 of the show, bringing the total episode to 13 (8 episodes were produced prior to the strike). But, unlike what was originally planned, the creative team of Lost suggested that episode 7 would be the one to end the current batch of episodes, keeping episode 8 to open the new batch in April, because it worked better that way.

Alright, so this seems to be a new trend, and I think it has to stop, really. The original one, from Sarah Silverman, was hilarious, no question there. The second one by Silverman’s boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel, wasn’t reallt that good IMO. It wasn’t too bad, but still more a bunch of different celebs one after the other than something actually funny.
And now, trying to use this latest trend to promote their latest movie, here we got Elizabeth Banks and Seth Rogen going at it. So, yeah, it features Banks singing “I’m Fucking Seth Rogen” much like what Silverman did, and you got Rogen there of course as Matt Damon or something. Only, it’s not really funny, so this has to stop.

Once again Fox easily won the night, both in total viewers and on the demo, thanks to a new installment of American Idol, most-watched program of the night way ahead of any competition. At 8.00 CBS was still able to keep up a good face with 11.2 million viewers in front of a rerun of NCIS, not bad : that’s 300 000 more viewers for The Eye while Idol had one more million viewers !
At 9.00 Back To You was back and had no trouble reaching a series high with 12.3 million viewers, which may sound good but it’s not, because it means the show lost more than half the viewers of its lead-in ! Totally make sense to me, though. Meanwhile According To Jim is still as low as usual pulling out only 4.6 million viewers (1.4 on the 18-49 demo), so it got renewed… Go figure!

Shows: According To Jim, Back To You, Carpoolers, Jericho, One Tree Hill, Quarterlife
By fred | February 27, 2008
(S02E03) You know, the more I watched this new season of Jericho, the more I think that what’s happening to the show, after its resurrection, to this new season, is a real shame. I’m sure many liked the show back in its first season, obviously, which is why fans went “nuts” and were even able to get CBS to bring it back for another season, as little as it may be.
And looking at what the writers & producers have done so far, you have to hand it to them : this season is really good, it’s actually (much) better than the first ! This is why it’s pretty sad to see the this new season doesn’t seem to be watched. Where are all the fans gone ? Why aren’t they watching ? Why does it feel like they’ve given up on the show hey brought back to life, and why do so when it’s better than ever before !!?

Shows: Jericho
In Series: Jericho Season 2
By fred | February 26, 2008

* Schedule is filling up, but that doesn’t mean it’s with good stuff.
* At 9.00 ABC has a new According To Jim, followed by a new Carpoolers. I think now that the strike is over, those two should be put to sleep…
* Meanwhile on The CW comes a new One Tree Hill
* At 9.30 HBO has a new In Treatment : Tuesday is Alex day.
* And on Fox there’s a new Back To You, confirming terrible rumors that this show hasn’t been canceled. Crap!
* At 10.00 at least something good comes on, sadly no one seems to be watching. Anyways, a new episode of Jericho is coming, and you should watch because it’s good stuff!
* Finally on NBC comes a “new” show : quarterlife. But it’s not really new, it already “aired” online, since the show has been available for free on quarterlife.com for quite some time now. I did watch the first webisodes (that should make the actual first episode airing tonight) back then, and again as I said last time I fully understand why ABC rejected the project when it was first presented to them three years ago : it’s just not good.

(S01E21) And we’re back for a new session of In Treatment. Truth be told, I didn’t review the last two episodes, on Thursday and Friday. But I’ve grown bored out of those two sessions, and I just finally dropped them. Kind of. Before tuning in for this Monday’s session, I rapidly went over the two ones I had missed, just to see how it went. Jake and Amy are still the same, although it looked like finally Jake started to accept help form Paul. Jake: I think that was a real mistake.
On Friday it seems that Paul finally admitted to Gina that he was in love with Laura ! Interesting, I almost wished I had seen the entire episode. Not really, no, cause there was still lots of things I don’t care for, but for him to admit not an attraction or some fantasies but that he is “in love with her“, that’s huge. I wondered if/how this was going to affect her session…
