* And around 10.15 on Fox comes the new post-SuperBowl episode of House ! What you say, over 30 million ? Over 40 million ?
There might be some pretty cool news to be announced soon, as soon as by the end of the week if you are to believe the most optimistic ones out there.
No, there are no deals, strike is not over yet, nothing changed so far. But as you know, after the DGA signed a deal and with the Oscars coming up, after almost all shows vanished from networks schedules and after laughing at NBC for the mess they did during the Golden Globes, everyone finally realized that it was in everyone’s best interest to work out something to put an end to the strike started three months ago.
Negotiations have resumed, and a media blackout was resumed. Still, rumors were out that informal talks were productive and it seemed that both sides wanted to put an end to the strike, and both were willing to make concessions.
(S01E05) So after a full week of various patients for Paul, a different one each day the whole week, Friday was time to switch side. To end the week, on Friday Paul goes to see his own therapist and talk about his patients. So far each episode had been about a different patient and had its own and independent story, none of them related to the others and you could easily pick the days, patients and stories you were interested in, while dropping the others.
But the Friday’s appointment is unlike any other, because Paul goes in and becomes the patient, talks about his week and the way his patients affected him and his work. At least that’s what I was told, that’s what I thought it it’d be like. But it wasn’t.
Last night it was a Friday, and there’s a strike going on, so many TVs were off. Not only that, but there wasn’t much on, so it’ll be quick.
At 8.00 nothing worth it was on, NBC came first on total viewers and on the 18-49 demo, just like it did over night (well, it’s a tie on the demo between NBC and Fox). At 9.00 a rerun of House came first before another rerun, one of Moonlight. Only then came Friday Night Lights, which did a little better than the past weeks with 5.6 million viewers.
(S02E14) Last week I was happy to see that the show was back to his “real” self. Sure, it had the whole soap aspect to play with that made it a little special, but there was one case and everyone was working on it : Shawn & Gus just like the police. This hadn’t occurred for a few episodes and that was not a good idea, because no one wants to see filler.
I’m happy to say that this week was once again the real deal, with an episode of Psych just like you love them : one case that finds ways to get everyone involved without the need for fillers or anything like that, pop references thrown all over and, of course, lots and lots of humor.
Okay, so I was visiting OfficeTally where I just read about the latest stupid idea from NBC. God I hate those retards!
So you know that due to the writers’ strike, The Office has been away for quite some time now, and it’s been hard on all of us. Last night NBC had one of the many reruns they air of the show, which isn’t anything special, every other network has been filling up their schedule with reruns as well.
But NBC decided to re-air an episode, but this time it won’t actually be exactly what it was the first time. This time, one scene will be replaced by another, completely new and never seen before scene (video below). I know, this goes against the idea of rerun, and is a freaking stupid thing to do, and I’m not sure they even promoted it, but whether they did or not doesn’t change the fact : you do not do that.
(S01E04) Here we go again, with another day came another patient for Paul, HBO’s very own therapist. The concept of the show is as much in the way its done than it is in its schedule. I said before that I could see how people could chose a few patients they liked, and only watch episodes with them. It works, because none of the stories are related - which is good - and I think that if it may bee surprising to have one new episode every day, it couldn’t have worked otherwise, you’d forget about each story or character and by the time they’d be back for another session you wouldn’t care anymore.
The only real question comes from the Friday show, which will be different and may be the exception where all stories are crossing paths, since this time Paul gets to be the patient. But for now, he’s still the therapist.
Yes, last night numbers are in. An indication of how it went ? What if I told you that ABC did something they hadn’t done in quite some time now : they won the night ! Both in total viewers and on the 18-49 demo, the Alphabet was leader. And yes, of course, they have Lost to thank for that.
And Lost did pretty well, starting at 8.00 for the usual recap, watched by over 13 million people and winning its slot both in total viewers and on the demo. One hour later it was time for the long awaited season premiere, and ABC again came before every other network with over 16 million viewers and a very strong 6.7 on the demo for Lost !
Sarah Silverman is hilarious, that’s nothing new. And this little video is another awesome proof of that. Here’s a little something presented to Jimmy Kimmel by his girlfriend Sarah Silverman, it’s really hilarious, even more if you know about the running-joke Kimmel does about Matt Damon.
