* Tonight, there’s not much. Some shows are still around, but either they suck (Women’s Muder Club), or I have no idea cause I still haven’t tried them (Friday Night Lights)…
* But, on USA two series currently on hiatus are returning tonight for one episode only, a Christmas special, and so at 10.00 we got a new episode of Psych, the show that made us laugh all summer !

Latest news about the strike — Writers Guild of America, West (WGAW) President Patric M. Verrone and Writers Guild of America, East (WGAE) President Michael Winship issued the following message regarding the AMPTP-WGA negotiations :
Dear Fellow Members,
Before we head into negotiations this morning, we want to give you an update on where we stand. On Tuesday, after the companies had requested a four-day break so they could work on their proposals, we returned to the bargaining table. We presented a counter proposal to their streaming proposal of November 29. They presented no new proposals. On Wednesday, the AMPTP again had no new proposals, but they did have detailed questions about our streaming counter proposal and other aspects of our overall proposals – and from the give and take of those discussions, we felt that they might finally be ready to engage in serious bargaining. They told us they would have new proposals for us Thursday. On Thursday, we met at 10am, and they told us their new proposals would be ready shortly. At 5 PM, they told us their proposals still weren’t ready, that they would be working on them late into the night, and that we should come back this morning at 10am. The fact that we saw everyone from the AMPTP leave the building by 6:45pm is not a promising sign, but we will be at the table at 10 AM this morning, ready to receive their new proposal.

Thursday night is usually owned by CBS, also ABC is always right behind on the 18-49 demo. Well, not this time, this time the Alphabet took the 18-49 demo home, thanks to Barbara Walters and, of course, the always rock-solid Grey’s Anatomy.
At first things started as they usually do with Survivor winning its slot, followed by an Ugly Betty who didn’t do as good as usual. After a peek at 8 million three weeks ago and a little bump down as 6.6 million last week, My Name Is Earl was back to normal with 7.4 million viewers. Then came a (sadly) struggling 30 Rock which fell down below 6 million by about 200 000 viewers !

Well folk, networks are announcing their schedule for the next two or three months, they’re considering bringing cable shows on their schedule in order to get fresh new content - or doing so already - all things that don’t really tend to say they’re optimistic about the strike.
In fact, things seems to be quite the opposite. Looks like producers are only pretending to deal with WGA and want to look good by making proposals and calling themselves optimistic, but the truth is that they’re apparently hoping to win by dividing, opening talks with the DGA ahead of next spring’s contract expiration.
Also, it’s been reported that they hired some big PR guns, who are expert when it comes down to crisis management, and the word is that they are only trying to win/waste time, pretending to be working on new proposal when they aren’t, and intend to walk out while claiming all fault to the WGA, helped by a anti-WGA PR campaign.
Want to see how bad it looks ? Read this great report and instead of getting depressed, send pencils and more importantly stop watching the big networks when all they have to offer is crappy games, reality TV, or reruns.
And if you want to know more about where the AMPTP stands and what their offer is, here’s another hilarious video that explains it all :

(S07E06) Yes, this is the very last season of Scrubs, and as such we viewers just want it to be one of the best, because we feel like if we’re going to loose this show forever, we might as well enjoy it at its best for the few little times we have left with it. Which is probably why last week, I had mixed feelings about the episode.
Not that I didn’t like it or thought it was bad, it wasn’t that much, but I felt like they were “wasting time” in a way, going over the same things and doing what they’d done before instead of moving on, whatever the way they wanted to actually move on and evolve was irrelevant here, I just didn’t want to feel stuck in the same place week after week, especially given how those are the last weeks we have.

Shows: Scrubs
In Series: Scrubs Season 7

After CBS a few days ago, it’s time for NBC now to announce its special winter schedule, and because they don’t want to let the strike affect things, they try to pretend it’s all good, even stating that “NBC’s first-quarter primetime schedule is slated to deliver significantly more hours of original programming than was ever the case in the first quarter of 2007“.
Right, yeah, sure. Just don’t expect “original programming” to be anything close to “good programming”, or else you’re in for some disappointment.
Main things to know are :
- Medium will have its season premiere Monday, January 7 at 10.00
- Law & Order: Criminal Intent, the show that was once not good enough for NBC and “downgraded” to USA will finally make it back to NBC, starting Wednesday, January 9 at 9.00
- Law & Order, the original one, will have its two-hour season premiere on January 2nd before heading to its regular timeslot on Wednesdays at 10.00
- New episodes of series like ER, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Friday Night Lights, Las Vegas, or Scrubs are announced, but there might not actually be many episodes left to air.
- You better like Deal Or No Deal if you intend to watch NBC. My advice : don’t.

(S03E12) I remember how I felt last week, after watching the by-then latest episode of this show. And I wasn’t too pleased, to tell you the truth. Because while I admit that it may have been a nice idea to send Earl behind bars for a while and try new things, as obviously he couldn’t go on as he used to for the to seasons before, it didn’t take long for this whole deal to backfire.
And I thought that writers had see that as well, as they had to resort to “creative writing” or two-hour long “Cops” special in order to still find things to say, because they quickly ran out of possibilities of things for Earl to do, especially regarding his whole list/Karma thing, while locked up. And that was a big deal, given how that’s what the show was all about !

Shows: My Name Is Earl
In Series: My Name Is Earl Season 3

(S02E08) More and more shows are slowly disappearing from the air these days, and that’s not because of the holidays, sadly. But today we had a new episode of 30 Rock, and we should have still a few more left to come after that, and that truly is some pretty good news because this show is definitely the funniest sitcom around, methinks.
Once again we were treated with a great episode brilliantly mixing a couple of main plots and somehow finding a very natural way to involve every one in a great mix where it all felt natural, great, and so damned funny too, of course !

* At 8.00 we got a new episode of My Name Is Earl - here’s to hoping he’s going out of jail and we can left that whole stupid idea behind us…
* At 8.30 the funniest sitcom on the air is back : Tina Fey’s very own 30 Rock !
* At 9.00 the second part of Grey’s Anatomy is coming to your screen… will Seth Green die ? or get the girl, too, maybe ?
* Half an hour later on NBC a new Scrubs is on. Hopefully no one will tell JD to grow up already.

(S01E11) This was the second dose of Life we were treated with this week, and that was a delight once again. The only bad news that came with this episode was that I’m afraid this might be the last one we’ll get to see in a while, and not only because of Christmas and the holidays…
But let’s not think about that for now, and focus on this new episode. Despite back on its usual time slot, this was once again a very special episode we got to see this time, but not only because it was the second part, continuing from Monday’s episode. No, the episode in itself was very unique and very “different” that pretty much every single episode of the show we got to see so far.
Not that this was a bad thing, though.
