Breaking News: Life & Chuck picked up !!

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 26, 2007

YAY!! This is the news I have been waiting for for such a long time, so I am thrilled to say that, according to Michael Ausiello, NBC finally decided to order the nine episodes for both Life and Chuck, bringing those two shows to a full season order !!

This is simply a great news, because Life is the greatest new series of the season, I absolutely love it, and Chuck, well, given how popular it’s been it would have been odd (to say the least) if they hadn’t picked that one up too.

No surprise that Bionic Woman isn’t on the list, but I’ve also heard that they might have up to episode 11 filmed, and that that last episode could work as a series finale. As for the fans of Journeyman, well, as I said earlier things don’t look so good

Here’s a pretty cool (and funny) music video made to support the writers’ strike. “All you big corporations you got no excuse, you’d be Lost without Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse!” Great stuff!

Is Journeyman running out of time ?

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 26, 2007

JourneymanThis has actually become a real question for this show, and in more than one way. First, there’s the question to know whether or not the last episode made, episode 12, will be the last one of the series, ever.

This question might very well be answered by a yes, I’m afraid for all fans of the series. Creator Kevin Falls said that “episode 12 is the end of our order. And let’s not kid ourselves. It’s a long shot that we would get a back nine, given the strike and our questionable numbers.

Falls was referring to the additional nine episodes NBC could order to pick up the show for a full season. But this year so far NBC is being the worst of all networks - personal opinion here - because while other networks like ABC have shown support for some of their new series (yes, both Pushing Daisies or Dirty Sexy Money have received a full season order already), NBC is in a completely different “strategy”.

Could we hope for the strike be over this year ??

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 26, 2007

According to what sounds like a reliable source from Deadline Hollywood Daily, today’s resumption fo contact talks between writers and studios could end up being a highly positive thing. In fact, “a very reliable source tells me that there appears to be a deal seemingly in place between both sides“.

The insider revealed that thanks to the groundwork done during the past weeks by the Hollywood agents working the writers guild leadership on one side, and the studio and network moguls on the other, things could be wrapped up quite soon.

Don’t expect a deal and resolution to be announced today or even this week, but at this point it seems very possible that the strike could be settled before Christmas.

Not to raise any false hope, but if that were to happen that would be pretty fantastic ! For all the writers and everyone whose jobs have been affected by this whole thing, and also in a way more selfish way there may be hope for a real good season of Lost after all

Both sides agreed that the negotiations - starting today - will have a news blackout, so don’t expect to learn anything (big) until they worked things out. But there seem to be a real possibility, if not probability, that things could end up for good this year. Of course, it would still be weeks before everything got back to normal, and most important nothing is done until both parties agreed and documents are signed, so let’s wait and see. And hope.

Family Guy: Peter’s Daughter

Family Guy(S06E07) Here we go with the second episode of Family Guy that creator Seth MacFarlane didn’t get to tweak and made final adjustment to before it was sent to the network, given that a strike is going on and the writers of this show, including MacFarlane, are picketing.

Last week, I thought we had a pretty disappointing episode. I’m not saying this was due to the absence of last minute tweaking - in fact, I doubt it was - but regardless the episode wasn’t really good, or funny. This week was better.

Futurama(DVD) Tonight on Fox, you’ll be able to watch a new episode of Family Guy, a series once canceled. Because sometimes, thanks to the great support & effort of fans, a show can survive its cancellation.

When it comes to Futurama, Fox did not change its mind. Never mind those morons, because the show will still be back ! First, there will be four direct-to-DVD movies done, which will then be reconfigured to air on Comedy Central as 16 half-hour episodes. Bender’s Big Score is the first of those DVD movies, which will consists of the first four episodes, will be available in store November 27th.

I got lucky enough to get a chance to watch it already, and sure as Hell wasn’t going to wait. And men, was it good to see Bender, Fry, Leela, and all the others !

Strike Update : How will you favorite shows be affected ?

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 25, 2007

I’ve done it before, but today seems a good time to make a new update, given how a few shows have already ran out of episodes and we all pray that tomorrow writers & studios will be able to get closer and closer to an agreement.

Again you will have a first chart with as many series as I could get info about, and for each of them how many episodes already aired, how many should be done and waiting in the can (written & produced), and what we all care about, how many are left - as of today, 11/25/07. I’ve also added how many episodes have been ordered.

Criminal Mind: Penelope

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 25, 2007

Criminal Minds(S03E09) Things are a but slow these days, and still it took me a while to watch that show. I actually didn’t even think of watching in right when I first could, so used to let it sit on my DVR and watch it during the weekend. Then it took me a little longer than usual, but I now did and I’m sure glad I did.

This episode was about a story we were introduced last week already, and last week I gave my thoughts about what we got to see then. And it wasn’t really good, because that was pretty much everything I didn’t like so much during that episode. But last week was only an introduction and it didn’t tell much about what was going on, besides that obviously the whole team would stop everything to find who attacked one of their own.

Friday’s Numbers

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 24, 2007

This was pretty much a Friday like any other, with a clear victory from CBS, a good night for The CW while Fox is trying to exists.

At 8.00 Ghost Whisperer did pretty much as good as last week, little less viewers but a little improvement on the 18-49 so it’s all good. Meanwhile the movie Family Man on NBC started well putting the network on the second spot, beating Men In Trees on ABC by almost a million viewers.

And once again, The CW’s Friday Night Smackdown performed well and put Fox’s The Next Great American Band to dead last, as every Friday.
