(S01E08) Due to circumstances beyond my control I ended up starting by watching this show first. Only now that I did it, I realize that the sign on the door title of the episode, “Do Not Disturb”, was actually meant for all of us to be taken literally.
We really shouldn’t have bothered with it, because again this week what there is left to say is: what an incredible waste of time that was. I’m pretty convinced that this show was doomed to fail from the start, and if this hadn’t been the season where writers decided to go on strike, I am questioning the very fact that NBC would even have the pilot on the air.
Recently I came across a few people “finding out” that the product placement on 30 Rock were actually… real ! And some of them seemed to be really shocked to learn that, not so long ago when Baldwin and Fey praised Verizon Wireless services and then Tina Fey turned to the camera, asking “Can we have our money now ?“, they actually got paid by Verizon.
Really !??
No seriously, you thought they mention some actual real name of phone provider just cause they were feeling generous, or by mistake ? The only way this was not a product placement was if they’d used some name they made up. The fact that it’s real only makes the whole thing better !
Here is yet another video from one of the striking writers, and once again it is some pretty funny thing. This time it comes to us from Samantha Who?’s writer Bob Kushell, who’s commenting on a few things, mainly how the strike can affect writers’ marriage.
Done with the assistance of the show’s lead Christina Applegate, this little video is really great and pretty hilarious. It really is. As a matter of fact, I find it to be much better and funnier than the sitcom itself is. Really.
* At 8.00, nothing. No really, don’t bother. But get your things ready, because one hour later it will be almost impossible to watch everything !!
* Here we go, starting with Pushing Daisies on ABC, yes it comes in one hour later tonight, so make sure not to forget/miss it.
* Meanwhile on CBS we got a fresh new Criminal Minds - and it’s back and strong as usual !
* I mention Bionic Woman on NBC, but feel free to skip it, it’s crap, we all know it.
* But The CW has a new Gossip Girl, and that’s some nice guilty pleasure to have… if you can afford it.
* Then at 10.00 things get a little easier, and the choice to make is NBC, with a new episode of the best new series of the season, and recently picked, Life !
(S04E09) Here we are, this was the last episode of House, ever. For this year. It will definitely be back sometime in January (or maybe later?), given they have about three more episodes in the can left for us before the strike sends us all into withdrawal.
This was a perfect episode to end this year, because as it turned out it also came with the conclusion of the main plot line that had been running ever since this season starter, and House had to give his final answer to Cuddy : who will be the member of his new team.
The decision wasn’t easy, there were smiles and there were tears, but a decision had to be made.
As expected, the 2-hour season finale of Dancing With The Stars was a blockbuster, and it made ABC a clear winner of the night, both in viewers and on the 18-49 demo. Still, Fox does quite well and hold it strong, especially with the hit-drama House, which despite facing that massive finale still won some viewers and scored the best score of the night amongst adults 18-49, with a 7.0 and almost 17 million viewers.
Earlier, at 8.00, NCIS was still strong and had over 17 million people watching CBS, while ABC can thank the rerun of Charlie Brown which once again did much better than the usual sitcoms, and even better than last week’s special with 13.6 million viewers and 4.6 on the 18-49 demo. Meanwhile, Bones gained close to a million fan with 9.6 million viewers and 3.4, making it one of its best result this season.
Negotiations are still in progress, with a blackout on information so nothing much it known. But rumors are that things are serious and going well, and that a deal could be worked out before Christmas.
And the fact that NBC, who was reluctant to make any decisions concerning their new series as the strike was going on, did in fact recently do so - even though neither Journeyman or Bionic Woman have been officially canceled, obviously, could be seen as another indication that things are moving in the right direction.
I have no idea what magazine this is, I never heard of it, but they seem to believe that Kristen Bell of the women of 2008. One thing for sure, she does look good. But while you might see less of her (read none) in Gossip Girl than in Heroes, I think she’s doing a better job there, her character’s not a complete idiot, and the show is actually good.
(S01E09) Ah, so good to see Sam, Sock, Ben, and of course the Devil back this week. Last week we had to do without them, and I missed my dose of Reaper. I’ve always liked the show, and while others may have disagreed it seemed I thought that on more than one occasion they proved they were not limited by rules to follow in each and every episodes.
And this week was no exception, once again we were treated with a new story and development that are far from making Reaper a formula-show, or a simple monster-of-the-week kinda deal. It is so much more than that, and watching an episode of that show is always much fun.
