Fox updates his schedule

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 8, 2007

- The new season of 24 has been delayed until further notice, to ensure it could air uninterruptedly (and in its entirety).

- Bones moves to Fridays, at 8.00 starting January 1st

- Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles will premiere on Sunday, January 13th at 8.00 with a two-hour long special. After that, it will air at 9.00 on Mondays, starting January 14th.

- Prison Break is going away after November 12th, and will return at 8.00 on Mondays starting January 14th.

- House stays on Tuesdays at 9.00, starting January 22nd - Don’t forget the Superbowl special on Sunday, February 3rd

- New Amsterdam will premiere Friday, February 22nd at 9.00

- Unhitched, the new comedy from the Farrelly Brothers, will premiere Sunday, March 2nd at 9.30

- The Return of Jezebel James will premiere Friday, March 7th at 8.30

- Canterbury’s Law will premiere Friday, April 11th at 9.00 in place of New Amsterdam

The Simpsons, Family Guy, American Dad and King Of The Hill stay on Sundays as planned. A bunch of games and other reality crap are on their way, I urge anyone NOT to watch any of that crap, to show the networks we love TV, but we want good TV. And good TV means there’s talented writers behind it, writers that deserves to be compensated for their work.

Prison Break to take a break sooner than expected

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 8, 2007

That Prison Break would take a break in the middle of the season isn’t news, but it will happen sooner than originally planned. The show was supposed to go on until December 17, and then return in April.

December is always filled with reruns, so “wasting” the few new episodes they got left that month made no sense in those times of strike. Logically, Fox announced that only one more episode would air this year, on November 12. After that, it’s a hiatus.

The show will then return on January 14, with no more than five episodes in the can. Should the situation not be worked out in time, episode 13 would be the season finale (with no guarantee of a fourth season). Otherwise, writers, producers, cast and crew would try to come up with the remaining nine episodes to deliver a full season of 22 episodes, as planned.

Honestly, episode 13 could be the series finale I don’t care anymore, not after that incredibly awful two-episodes special.

New season of 24 delayed - Hopefully ABC will copy them…

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 8, 2007

Ok, so the strike got its first big casualty : Jack Bauer. Fox announced that they would not air the new season of their hit drama 24 as expected, but instead will wait until they can air it the way it should be, that is one fully uninterrupted season.

I know many fans of the show will be pissed by such news, and that’s understandable. I haven’t been the biggest fan of the show for a few years now, but I kept watching every year - even during the full season last year. Yes, all the way through the end.

And while having to do this year without 24 isn’t a good thing, I would like to thank Fox for - on this one - not being total morons. Because obviously, airing only eight episodes and then nothing. Only months after that would the season return, that would have been the worst decision ever.

Wednesday’s Numbers

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 8, 2007

Last night ABC did had any of its usual series, instead they made room for the Country Music Awards. For (most of) us, it sucked, but not for ABC because the CMA did very well with almost 16 million viewers, putting ABC in first place on both viewers and adults 18-49 !

Criminal Minds is still doing strong and put CBS in second place with 14.5 million viewers, way ahead of NBC’s Bionic Woman and its poor 6.4 millions. Bionic Woman is definitely in trouble, as it just hit a new series low, loosing 1.4 million viewers since last episode (two weeks ago). In fact, Kitchen Nighmares on Fox is right behind also at 6.4 million viewers (6.44 for Bionic Woman, 6.37 for Kitchen Nighmares) and does better on the 18-49 with 2.9 against 2.7 for NBC’s series.

CSI: New-York lost a few viewers but sill came as a strong second, with 12.9 million viewers, while there’s a relatively good news for Life, a great series, that actually did better than last week and kept all 6.4 million viewers from poor lead-in Bionic Woman.

As usual, all & more numbers in a chart right below :

Creator of Heroes apologizes to fans - Heroes is doomed!

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 8, 2007

HeroesWhile on the picket line with other writers, creator of Heroes Tim Kring took a minute or took to call EW and let them know that he knew the second season of his show was a huge disappointment, a pile of crap and that if he could do it he’d do it completely differently.

Well, those aren’t the exact words he used, but overall it sounds like that, because he basically agreeing with all of the fans (and critics) complaints, giving in on everything, begging for forgiveness and swearing that once the current chapter, or season if the strike cuts it down, is over it will all be different, better, of course.

But how much is this does he actually mean ?

The Sarah Silverman Program: Maid to Border

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 8, 2007

The Sarah Silverman Program(S02E06) Well, I hope you enjoyed this episode of The Sarah Silverman Program because it’s the last one you’ll get in a while. No, this was not the season finale, there’s still seven more episodes to come, and no, it has nothing to do with the strike either. It was planned that way all along, Comedy Central only airs the first half of the season this fall.

And before we leave Sarah behind for a while, let’s have a look back at this last episode before the break. One that follow the same path as introduced a few episodes back already… kind of.

South Park: Guitar Queer-o

South Park(S11E13) The last episodes of South Park were different from usual, as they were all part of that great trilogy that is called Imaginationland - one trilogy that did as good as others before it, like Star Wars. Or you know, close to it, I’m sure. But it was Comedy Central best telecast of the year and grabbed a total of 10 million viewers. So, you know, that new one better had to be good.

Not that this pressure and expectations if any new to the guys behind this show, it’s been like that for years now, and very rarely have they been disappointing. And tonight, after a special episode about Warcraft they attacked another video game, Guitar Hero.

House: Whatever It Takes

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 8, 2007

House(S04E06) There’s something that became obvious to me while I was watching this episode. In fact, quite early in the episode I came to the realization that, if the strike was to last for a while (and sadly it seems heading that way), this show is the one I’ll miss the most. Not that others aren’t good or that I don’t enjoy them, but not as much.

Actually, to be complete, I realize it’s those kind of shows that will be the most, the ones with such a great writing. There’s no question that it doesn’t do everything, or that Laurie’s performance isn’t fantastic, but it all comes down to the writing, every time, and the most irritating thing about this strike is that writers are pretty much only asking to be paid for their work, which doesn’t seem that extraordinary to me!

Anyways, I really love this show and I was really happy to get to enjoy another episode.

Tonight On TV: Criminal Woman, Gossip Life, Silverman Park

Tonight On TV

* At 8.00, there’s nothing. Time to watch whatever is pending on your DVR - and make room or later. Also note that, as you can see, there’s nothing on ABC the whole night, meaning no Pushing Daisies or Dirty Sexy Money.

* At 9.00, things get busy already. CBS has a new Criminal Minds. I’m not really liking the season so far ever since Gideon left, hopefully thing will change - starting with the new guy’s attitude.

* Meanwhile NBC has a new episode of Bionic Woman. The show isn’t good, but I keep watching it, hoping it will be a Sarah Corvus centric one for a change…

* And still at 9.00, there’s a new Gossip Girl on The CW. Yeah, well, you know, I’m not forcing anyone.

* At 10.00 comes the best of all new series this season, it’s on NBC and it’s called Life !

* And don’t forget that this is Wednesday, the day Comedy Central bring is a new South Park at 10.00, followed by a new episode of The Sarah Silverman Program at 10.30 Funny shit all around!

Reaper: Love, Bullets and Blacktop

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | November 7, 2007

Reaper(S01E07) So I’ve always enjoyed this little show, it’s always been a fun hour of entertainment. But last week I was pretty pleased with the episode, which I thought wasn’t only fun but also a first attempt to go in the right direction, and that is to get out of the formula it’s been kind of following ever since the pilot, more or less.

So obviously I was pretty curious as to see whether or not they would follow that path again this week. I hear many complaining that this show would be a “case of the week” show, with every week a new “monster” to send back to Hell… Like it’s a bad thing! I mean I know Lost is awesome and Heroes used to be great, but that doesn’t mean serialized is the only way to go !
