Bionic Woman: Sisterhood

Bionic Woman(S01E03) It is true that after reading my review of last week’s episode of Bionic Woman, one could have guessed that I was done with the show. However, I did actually tune back in and watched this new episode.

This isn’t a change of heart of any kind, but I’m not completely fed up with the show yet, and I’d like to give them time. After all I’m the first to insult networks when they cancel series after only a few episodes, so it’s only fair that I try to watch more than a couple myself. I don’t always try as hard as I do now, it depends on the series itself mostly. For instance, it took my only one episode to be done with Cavemen, as anyone else I would assume hope, same goes for Cane who’s nothing but a yet another uninteresting soap I don’t care about.

But let’s go back on topic, and this new episode of the new yet not improved Bionic Woman.

The Sarah Silverman Program: Joan of Arf

The Sarah Silverman Program(S02E02) Ahh, Sarah Silverman. What could possibly be said about her and her “Program” ? Well, for starter I said just last week, when the new season premiered, how glad I was to see her back, and true to her self and sense of humor. I had really enjoyed the episode, thanks to this.

Funnily enough, this episode was a little different than the usual. Now let’s be clear : it was still The Sarah Silverman Program, and it was the same sense of humor, and don’t get this wrong, it was still funny.

All of that goes without saying. So there, I said it.

South Park: More Crap

South Park(S11E09) This week Matt Stone and Trey Parker did not even tried to hide it, they announce it loud and clear, it is proudly that they bring you more crap! And that’s not any kind of crap, as hinted by the picture on the right, it is Emmy Nominated crap!
(Yes, little spoilery that soon, but it’s soft and taken from very early in the episode)

I didn’t hide the fact that I was waiting for the return of the show last week, only to be highly disappointed by the episode we got to see. It wasn’t funny. And while it wasn’t a season premiere per-se, it kinda felt like one anyways, hence the aggravation of the letdown we felt.

So, how was it this week ?

How I Met Your Mother: The Third Wheel

How I Met Your Mother(S03E03) Well well. I watched this episode, and I must confess that I love that show. I really do, and as such I kinda want it to be brilliant, and funny, and some more. Maybe it means I do appreciate a bit more episodes than are only “okay”, maybe it does means that I’m more tolerant with the show, I don’t know.

Yet, after this one, I don’t feel so good. I think I was disappointed with this episode.

House: 97 Seconds

House Survivor Edition(S04E03) Serious things on the way. Well, that’s not right to say, because while the first episodes might have had a lot about House having to and starting to look for a new team, there were some pretty good serious cases already.

But along the way the number of potential newcomers to become the new team got more and more small, Cameron and Chase got reintroduced into the show/hospital, and so the actual case are now taking the most part of the show. The look-out for a new team is only a part of it, just like having to deal with Cuddy, it’s not a main or big thing anymore.

Journeyman: Game Three

Journeyman(S01E03) So… what did you think about this episode ? Do you still like the show, do you like it even more, or do you get unsure about it ? I am not asking because this episode was so spectacular or special in any way, it wasn’t really. A very classic episode of what this series will be over time, but also because it’s the second of the kind (pilot excluded for being the first ever, or a pilot one might say), you know the drill already.

I was curious about the show before I saw any of it, and after the first two episodes, and while it is not perfect, I was still pretty hooked. Did things changed after the third chapter.

Chuck: Chuck Versus the Tango

Chuck(S01E03) This is no news that I never liked this show. From the very start, I thought it was a pretentious unfunny obnoxious show that tried unsuccessfully to be funny while, as a parody according to some, re-using old cliché without any sign of such parodic elements. They were not making fun of [insert cliché here], they were not moking it, they were simply doing it.

I fail to see how it is funny. That’s for one. Second thing, the whole action thing. Not good. Reusing lame ideas over hollow plot cannot be an enjoyable thing, not done like that. Now add to this the basis of the show, which makes absolutely no sense at all, I can understand why ratings are dropping.

New week, new episode, I was still around.

Prison Break: Good Fences

Prison Break(S03E04) Ok, so now you know. Now we all know what was in the box. And I’m sure they intended this little moment to be of the the jaw-dropping moments, something many viewers and fans would react to, and maybe they thought it might give a boost this season has been desperately needing so far. But I really don’t think so.

What happened, and the way it happened, should it be on the show or behind the scenes, has absolutely nothing that would actually serve the show, quite the opposite. And I don’t mean to be mean, but I think they are killing the show and ruining it for all the (few) fans still tuning in every week.

Heroes: Kindred

Heroes(S02E03) Ok so, this time one of the first Monday shows I watched happens to be Heroes, the self-proclaimed hit than keeps loosing viewers every month, and for a reason. I’ve been complaining about this new season ever since, well, actually even before it started!

But as I said last time, bring on great episode and I’ll shut up and praise the show. Now evidently for some reason they’ve decided not to do that, and so they are really the ones to blame for the resulting complaints they get.

Doesn’t take a genius to get it, this episode was no different than its predecessors, and that’s not a good thing.

Family Guy: Believe It or Not, Joe’s Walking on Air

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | October 9, 2007

Family Guy(S06E03) Alright, so while I fully realize than this was the third episode of the season, I think it’s fair to say this was really the first episode where the show was, again, what it really is. And it felt great.

Sure the premiere was good, pretty funny stuff, but it also was all Star Wars. And last week, well, it wasn’t funny, or good, neither did it had the same touch, or construction. Instead of their usual cut-away references, it was one long and boring story.

Thankfully, this week’s episode was back on tracks!
