Californication: The Whore of Babylon

Californication(S01E03) Well, now that the excitement for that show is starting to fade away, and the show finding its “marks” and getting into his final shape… it’s not so so great anymore. The problem I think is that the show might think it’s better than it really is, they have a (way) too high value of their own doings.

As I’ve said before, I never felt the show was that good as a concept, it wasn’t neither new or very exciting, but no one cared because the show’s appeal was into witnessing Hank go through his messed-up life, laughing along the way.

Unfortunately, as soon as they start repeating too much themselves, or stop being that funny, there’s nothing left. And that’s already what’s going on, that soon.

A day in the life of Jack Bauer!

So last season of 24 was a mess, and the next one keeps a lot of fans undecided, some great ideas are floating around, but some indicators aren’t as exciting, and every fans painfully learned that even exciting new ideas and great episodes at first were not a sign of anything…

But if you’re feeling a bit worried about the next big day in the life of Jack Bauer, and are still bitter about his last one, here’s something to relax you a little - and prove that Jack also has some good days once in a while…

Heroes loves BitTorrent too

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | August 30, 2007

While promoting Heroes all over the world, as part of their pretentious “we’re the greatest show of all time ever” tour, actor Masi Oka, who plays Hiro Nakamura, said he enjoyed the reaction of french fans of the show, who had already seen it even though the show hadn’t aired on TV yet.

This is obviously possible thanks to the Internet, where you can find all show in high (HDTV) quality - in not in a shitty dubbed version - right after the episodes aired for the first time in the States.

The Office: What did everyone do during summer?

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | August 30, 2007

I usually try to stay away from spoilers for shows that I watch, and really care about. This isn’t always very easy though, not so much because you have to resist while you are dying to know what’s gonna happen next. I can do that pretty good, as I believe knowing what’s gonna happen before I watch new episodes kinda ruins the fun and lower the level of excitement and surprise you get from experiencing it with a fresh, “clear” mind from any spoiler.

The problem lies more when reading articles that are titled like “Nuclear Bomb To Go Off Within First Four Episodes Of New Season Of 24″ ! I wish everyone would keep their lead-in or introductions as spoiler-free as possible, but FFS people keep your titles spoiler free at the very least! There’s nothing I hate more than having a show “partially ruined” because I read a headline that revealed too much.
Oh by the way, if you haven’t watched the season six of 24 yet, there was a huge spoiler in that title I used as example above. Although to be honest, if you haven’t watched Jack Bauer’s day 6, don’t bother : you’re lucky you avoided the worst season of the show ever, keep it that way.

But back on topic, The Office. (still spoiler free)

Seinfeld Reunions

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | August 29, 2007

I’ll be honest, I haven’t watched any episode of The New Adventures Of Old Christine so far. I have no idea if it’s funny or not, I guess one might hope it is, as least a little, seeing it’s been renewed.

And while Jerry Seinfeld himself will be back on his old slot on NBC, guest-starring on Tina Fey’s 30 Rock, co-stars Jason Alexander and Julia Louis-Dreyfus will reunite when the former will guest stars in an episode of the new CBS sitcom, The New Adventures Of Old Christine.

I was gonna watch 30 Rock anyway, but that might be the occasion for me to see what Elaine’s new show look like…

The Kill Point: The Devil’s Zoo

(S01E07-08) I think I can sum it up in one word : wow! As in, wow, what the fuck was that!??

The Kill PointI was very excited after seeing the pilot of the mini-series, as I thought the pilot was pretty good, solid episodes packed with actions, intensity, and much promises. However every single episode since then had been nothing but a disappointment as things never actually evolved, not really. Everything felt flat, no action could ever took place, it was always falling down the same way, at the same time.

It was supposed to be a huit clos, at least the part within the back. Everyone was trapped in there, we would have expected tension to build up, a packed intensity to transpire from the screen, yet none of this ever happened.

The 4400: Ghost In The Machine

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | August 28, 2007

The 4400(S04E11) This is something I had completely forgotten about, and just remembered as I watch this episode : on The 4400, seasons are “only” 14 episodes long. This means that yes, after this one we only have two episodes remaining and the season is over. That won’t be long, and it actually showed on this episode.

There was two main indications of this fact, the first is that we had a glimpse at many stories, all getting to the place they need to be for a big explosive finale ; and the second is that this episode felt somewhat like a filler, not much happened.
Still, it wasn’t a bad episode, but if you were expecting any (major) development story-wise, or character-wise, if you were expecting some answers, then you must have been disappointed.

Eliza Dushku might come back on television, but she might not stay long…

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | August 27, 2007

Eliza Dushku…hopefully she will, though.

It seems that the some network people do like Eliza Dushku quite a lot, and really want to work with her in a near future. So much that to ensure an high probability that it would happen, they signed a development deal with her !

Yeah, they want her that much. A development deal really is something, and behind this contract - said to be in the mid- to high-six figures, network and studio will develop projects especially made for the actress, as well as sending her already existing scripts or ideas.

So all fans of the beautiful actress seen on Buffy the Vampire Slayer as the other slayer, Faith, or in her very own series Tru Calling might be happy to know she might come back soon on the little screen.
But will she stay on?

Psych: If You’re So Smart, Then Why Are You Dead?

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | August 26, 2007

Psych(S02E07) Another pretty great episode of Psych, and to keep up with the “tradition” initiated in previous episodes, Shawn’s abilities were once again put into question. Only this time it wasn’t as before that his abilities weren’t needed anymore, for some reason or another, it was “worse” : people were questioning whether or not Shawn actually had any ability in the first place !

Although, to be honest, this isn’t the first time it happens. Remember earlier on, when another “psych” was working with the police, FBI in fact, she also claimed to knew he was “fake” and that she’d “out” him. Thankfully for our guys, it took place the other way around.

This time was quite different though.
