NBC Schedule

By fred | July 16, 2007

Basically, all of NBC’s primetime entertainment series will bow during the week of September 24 with the exception of The Biggest Loser (Tuesday, September 11), 30 Rock (Thursday, October 4), Friday Night Lights (Friday, October 5) and Scrubs (Thursday, October 25).

More details and all the dates after the jump…

* Chuck debuts on September 24. The new drama from executive producer Josh Schwartz and executive producer-director McG (who previously worked together on The O.C.), is described as a “comedic spy thriller” about Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi), a computer geek who is catapulted into a new career as the government’s most vital secret agent.

Doesn’t sound that new nor exciting to me, but maybe they can make it good, hopefully, we’ll see. Feels like yet another stupid teen show, though…. (for now, ie. based on almost nothing)

* Heroes will come back right after, but I have to admit I am absolutely not anxious about it. Can’t wait for Lost, but Heroes did something amazing with their more-than-shitty finale, they changed my whole perception of the show, and I now don’t care that much about it….

* Still on September 24 another new drama will premiere, Journeyman. From Emmy Award-winning writer-producer Kevin Falls and Emmy Award-winning director-producer Alex Graves (both previously worked on The West Wing), Journeyman is said to be a “romantic mystery-drama” about Dan Vasser (Kevin McKidd), a San Francisco newspaper reporter and family man who inexplicably begins to travel through time and change people’s lives.

For the very little clips I’ve seen of it, this new rendition of Quantum Leap did not look so good. Hopefully the pilot will do better.

* The new Bionic Woman will have its premiere on September 26. I’ve seen clips, and although the special effects looked very good, much better then years ago obviously, the show in itself really didn’t look that interesting. I’ll check it out of course, but…

Let me add thatn to make things worst for the show, NBC proudly signed gay-hater Isaiah Washington for at least five episodes !! He should be playing a “mysterious person who is brought into the enigmatic scientific organization that is responsible for creating the bionics that turn Jaime Sommers into the ‘Bionic Woman”, and it will not be clear whether his intentions are good or not, as he instructs Jaime on how to handle her new abilities.

I don’t know if they’re really excited about working with him, or only all the press this will generate! Cause that’s a great promo move for sure, which conforts me into thinking the show really ain’t that good

* Another drama to hit on screen on that day is Life, which features a “complex police detective (Damian Lewis) who’s given a second chance on the force after serving years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit”.

Oh yeah, I know that doesn’t sound good, or new, or anything. But oddly enough, the clip I’ve seen of this one was actually the most promising of all!

* Both My Name Is Earl and The Office will premiere on September 27 with a one hour long episode each!

* As previously mentioned, 30 Rock’s premiere on October 4th and have a guest appearance by no other than Jerry Seinfeld!
