I think pretty much all networks finally realized that hiatus was a stupid thing, and that putting a show, any show, regardless of how great and/or popular it is, and especially for serialized drama, would hurt it.
Last season, many shows went into hiatus and got badly hurt, as many viewers didn’t tune back in when it came back. Add that some retarded decision not to rerun not promote the show, and you got the mess that Jericho went through.
As a reaction many have decided to follow Fox’s 24 scheduling, and have the season go on without any hiatus or reruns along the way, even if it meant bringing back the show and starting the new season later that usual.
With Heroes, NBC went another way.

We all know Jay Leno will retire in 2009, well, or so he should. NBC announced early on that Conan O’Brien would then take his place on the Tonight Show, so then, who will take Conan’s spot?
Many names have been rumored over time, one of them being Jimmy Fallon, who even told Howard Stern several months ago he had signed a development deal with NBC, and that taking over Late Night might just be the gig he would get out of it.
And this just got closer to a done deal.

Allison Mack has been portraying Clark Kent’s journalist of a friend ever since the show started. Things has evolved a little for her, she’s now actually working on The Daily Planet. And despite last season’s revelation that she was not just a girl, but in fact one of her very own “Krypto-freak”, there wasn’t really much happening new to her.
And maybe this played a part in Allison Mack’s decision to move herself to the other side of the camera, and make her directing debut on an episode of the next season of Smallville.

After the big event that is comic-con, many spoilers on many shows have been revealed. I usually try to stay away from those, especially for shows I love, but Smallville isn’t really one so after the jump a few news about what you can expect for next season…

Alright I have to one more time come back on this, to end it for good. I simply couldn’t believe that not only Fox chairman would refuse to admit the truth, last season of 24 sucked, but than even producers would said to be proud of it !
Well, finally at least some of them got their minds right, and admitted that the season was a disappointment, that they were responsible for this, but also promised that next season would please all “disillusioned” fans!

(S01E02) As I said reviewing the first episode, Mad Men had been praised a lot by almost everyone before it aired. And while acknowledging that it was a well-made show and did a great job at recreating the atmosphere and the sixties, I wasn’t actually drawn to the show that much, to say the least.
Now that the second episode, now only those feelings got confirmed, but the grew by much, too.

(S02E03) Well, the good signs from the past weeks are confirmed, Psych is now a good and very enjoyable show, much better than it used to be when it started. And despite not being as great an episode as last weeks, this was yet another great one.
One again during this episode Shawn and Gus didn’t have it all easy, they had to work hard to prove themselves. Last time they weren’t in any “danger”, but Lassiter and Juliet were always right behind them, if not ahead! They had to work hard to show they were still master of the games.
This time, their abilities were directly questioned!

(PreAir) I’ve said already that I was not feeling that new show, for two main reason. An obvious lack of inspiration from people who went for nothing but a new version of an old shows, but with better special effects than thirty years ago! And also, the way they announced they had cast Isaiah Washington to join in on the show, was a pretty bad sign about how they truly felt about the show in itself.
But of course I still wanted to see how it looked like, and I just watched a screener and, well, it feels like another Chuck to me, but not as bad.

* One quite promising new shows for next season is Reaper, it looked pretty cool and was funny! There’s been a little recast though, and the female role of Andy, Sam’s love interest, will now be played by Missy Peregrym, who you might remember from Heroes, as Candice Wilmer, the girl who changed her appearance at will, or maybe Smallville.
* I’m not sure I care much for this, but Val Kilmer, who I hear got fat, is set to appear in the September 28 season premiere of Numb3rs as Mason Lancer, a fugitive on the run. Actually, a fat fugitive trying to run might be funny…
* Edward Herrmann, known as Richard Gilmore on the late Gilmore Girls, won’t stay away from our screen longer: he should be on Grey’s spin-off Private Practice for at least three episodes. I don’t know how this show will turn out to be, from what we saw on Grey’s Anatomy it didn’t looked very good, but for sure they have a lot of known names !

As you’ve heard before, the latest Emmy nominations have been announced, and as usual while some shows and their fans were pleased, others are frustrated, annoyed or even angry. Among which, are Lost’s fans.
Despite getting some nominations, notably for Terry O’Quinn and Michael Emerson both for “Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Drama Series”, it is clear that the snow got once again snubbed, as proves its absence from the list of nominees for “Outstanding Drama Series”.
Now I’ve started to hear and read here and there people trying to somehow give credit to the Emmys, and actually blame Lost for this lack of nomination, people trying to point out that the show had not, after all, been snubbed.
