Lost and Found

(S03E22-23) Alright, so before we talk about the season finale of Lost, let’s have a quick talk about a bunch of season finales. Namely, 24, Heroes, and Lost.

As you may have read, 24 did end its season the same way it went through it. It sucked. Then I watched Heroes season finale yesterday, and I have to say, I was highly disappointed.

We had all this huge deal made about the big finale fight between Sylar & Peter, all those wonders about how to stop the exploding man, and then it all came up to… nothing.

Really, there was no big fight or nothing, actually, there was nothing. Absolutely nothing. Somehow all the heroes were all at the same place at the same time, even though we don’t really know why. But worst, they pretty much all had nothing to do, so all they did was stare.

Peter cried, Hiro got pushed away, Sylar lay on the floor, and the big answer to saving the world from an exploding man was, was, was… that’s right, flying away up the sky. How retarded? That was the thing everyone was think of for ages!!

Seriously, I’m pretty sure anyone watching the show saw that coming. Well, maybe not. I was indeed wondering why instead of crying and waiting to explode Peter didn’t just fly off and jump into the sun, I wondered why no one ever mentioned this idea before, but I for sure didn’t expect it to be their big solution. Because it’s so lame!

Anyways, 24 sucked all the way, and after the let down of Heroes I was a bit worried about Lost big season finale. But seeing how freaking good each & every episodes have been lately, I had hopes.
Actually, after seeing Evangeline Lilly on Kimmel, after what she said, I’d say I had high hopes. Which actually made me be worried, cause I feared that, because of my (high) hopes, I would be disappointed if the finale wasn’t great, even if it was (really) good.

But people, this is Lost. The season finale was simply awesome! Oh yeah, once again they did it. Amazing, I really love that show.
Lots & lots to talk about, so let’s go into it all… Read the review of “Lost and Found” »

Jack… Lost?

(S06E23-24) I just saw the season finale of the latest day in the live of Jack Bauer, and it sucked. I can just say that right away, no spoiler warning or anything, because it was actually like the whole season this year. So if you watched the show, you’re probably used to it by now. And that sucks too.

I’m not sure where to begin, since there ‘s been so many things wrong during those two hours. There’s been things that you saw coming from so long it really became painful to watch. Also because it was the most cliché thing they could have done, and guess what? They fucking did.

Like Chloe, passing out only to find out that she is, wait for it, pregnant! OMFG. When she started getting dizzy that was my first thought, but I really didn’t believe they would actually be so lame as to do it, yet she did. Once again.

Another thing they did again. It seems now the US government has no problem handing US citizen to terrorists. Doesn’t matter if it is a well-known agent who saved the President, the country, the world even, so many times, or an innocent 17 years old boy, they just hand them away.

Not only that, but they don’t do it as top secret and highly classified operations, they just let everyone know about it; Especially Chloe, so she can repeat it to whoever ask her. And just look at her for that matter.

They also keep trusting terrorists, people who’ve lied & manipulated them repeatedly, over Jack Bauer. Even though he’s been right all the time today, while they were wrong. I said today, but that’s not actually the first time this happened, right? Read the review of “Jack… Lost?” »

Where is Ben??

(S03E21) Ok, so this wasn’t an awesome episode as the few we had lately, but it was still a pretty solid one. You know, it definitely wasn’t one where they try to come up with something no cares about or I don’t know what, and in the end you feel cheated, like they wasted an episode for nothing.
For instance, they didn’t got “hey I’m sure you wonder what the hell Jack’s tattoo could mean right? Right? No?!! Well let’s not answer that during this episode then…

No this was still a good episode, with some new “real revelations, despite being mostly a setup for the season finale which should be pretty good, if it meets our hopes. And judging by the quality of the show these days, it should get there for sure.

But let’s talk about this episode. And because he was barely in it, I’ll start with Ben. Looking back on the two last episodes, didn’t you noticed how out-of-it he was?

Don’t you remember how in advance he used to be? He was always ahead of everyone, by 3 or 4 moves. He told Kate on her first day on “Alcatraz that she’d have a couple of tough weeks. And then, after roughly 2 tough weeks, she was indeed “escaping.
Ben was always long ahead, and now it seems that he’s always behind everybody, not aware of anything. Read the review of “Where is Ben??” »

Jacob loves you… not!

(S03E20) Ok, I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again : with time I got pretty frustrated and a but disappointed in Lost, and the first episodes of this season didn’t really help.

Yet, as we’ve all noticed episodes after episodes for a while now, Lost really made up but this. I mean sure, we never really heard of Penny & her scientists “noticing the hatch implosion? Sure we can assume she did, and locate the Island, and find a way to send someone there, but we don’t know for sure, and haven’t heard of anyone from that side.

Of course it’s still Lost, and new questions & mysteries keep coming up, but they do alongside with answers and revelations. Maybe we still don’t know anything (yet?) about the statue, etc but hey : we got to see the past of the Dharma Initiative!!
Seriously, despite its shitty start, this has to be the best season of the show so far (and it’s not even over yet!).

That was for a general feeling, because I really felt like mentioning it. Now back of this week’s episode. Wow, that was huge. Possibly even, a major turning point in the whole story of what’s going on on the Island. Read the review of “Jacob loves you… not!” »

24 or what not do do

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | May 9, 2007

(S06E21) Allright, so I just saw the latest episode of 24, and I’m not quite sure how to say things… but it was bad. It was really bad. So bad it hurts, really.

That show seems to be exactly what not to do when you work on a TV show, seriously it’s like they keep trying to sink the show down. I remember when I first heard about a 24 movie, and it got me excited.
I was thrilled at the idea of seeing Jack Bauer fighting his way on the big screen, couldn’t wait. But if it’s to see anything remotely like that episode, no no, BIG no, no please don’t do this to me!!

You know how when this season of Lost started, there was quite a few (fans) voices that expressed their dislike about it. And they were right, it wasn’t so good back then. But they reacted, they changed things, writers heard complaints & dealt with them. By killing off stupid new characters they were trying to add, but mostly by delivering fantastic episodes after great episodes, they turned that season into a freaking awesome one, again.

24 on the other hand… Looks like writers heard complains, and decided to keep pushing it, and doing the same stuff everybody hates & complains about over & over & over again. And again.

Remember what I said earlier about the movie? That’s one thing, that I’ve said here before, and many people said, 24 is not a show about how CTU people fight terrorists, it’s not a real-time concept (they never fully went with it, never took, and then they completely stopped trying), no what that show is about can be said in 2 words, one name : Jack Bauer.

Jack is the show, makes the show. Jack is the reason why people watch 24. So yeah, when they saw earlier on episodes where Jack was pretty much MIA, only there a few minutes sitting in the infirmary or hiding on some foreigner basement, people obviously got frustrated.
