The Shark is sinking

Sebastian Stark (James Woods )What’s happening with Shark? I remember how I felt and what I said after watching S01E11, and funnily a few things that happened in the latest episodes, and more specifically the last one, S01E13, can be seen as going against what was said, which should be a good thing. It should make me happy, but Hell it doesn’t!

After a special episode last week where Shark was directly opposed to a super-smart killer and, incredible, he actually lost! That was indeed a shocking moment, even though many things on that episode were just not really believable…

But let’s focus on today’s episode. Starting back the usual way, with a moment between Shark & his daughter. Shark is pretty scared because the smart killer he didn’t send to jail had made some threats against him, and more specifically his daughter, so he doesn’t want her to be alone, ever, and he’ll ask his ex-cop of partner to follow her for the day, make sure she’s safe, and then Shark will hire someone else to do the job. And that someone will be no less than the best, who specialized in those type of cases.

Well at least what’s what we are told. However later on the guys shows up, and anyone still believing he fits the description must have a serious problem.
Our guy will appear in a scene that is one of the most cliché there could be, a scene we’d have hoped we wouldn’t have to go through, again, because even the very first time it’s been made years & years ago it was already pretty lame. Read the review of “The Shark is sinking” »

Sarah Silverman is hilarious!

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | February 4, 2007

Little while ago, when I learned that Sarah Silverman would have her very own sitcom to air on Comedy Central, I was very excited. I am a huge fan of hers, I know there’s always a few people to say she’s not funny, she only goes the offensive way and such, and maybe her act isn’t (always) as smart as some hard core fans would like to make you believe it is, but here’s the only thing that matters : she is hilarious.

As simple as that, it’s a fact. She is. I’ve seen her “movie-experiment Jesus is magic and I simply loved it. If you haven’t watched it I highly recommend it.

Sarah SilvermanBut let’s focus back on TV. Her new sitcom The Sarah Silverman Program got delayed a couple of times, and finally premiered last Thursday, and I couldn’t wait to get my eyes on it.

I eventually did, and even though it seems that the episode that has been broadcast was not actually the one that was originally planned to be the first episode, I did loved it anyways. It was brilliant.

Obviously, if you don’t like her you probably won’t like the show as it is classic Silverman. But if you like her humor, if you enjoy her act or her Jesus movie, you will just love that show.

I might not be totally fair because I’m such a fan of hers, really love her humour, but I honestly think this might just be the best sitcom there is those days, nothing less. Read the review of “Sarah Silverman is hilarious!” »

Beauties and Geeks, sort of

Yes, I do watch some crap too. And forced to admit, shamefully, that I do watch Beauty And The Geek. Actually, I’m not new to this strange behaviour, yep I did watch the two first seasons back then.
So it’s understandable that I now watch the third one as well, I mean, I can’t just stop now. Besides, this show is nothing of what it claims, and we usually got some good casting work done just like they need.

I’m not sure why but I’ll write some kind of recap yeah. That’s all can be done with this show, and I feel like it. Let me know how much you hate it so I can do it more! Read the review of “Beauties and Geeks, sort of” »

Hey, let’s get stuck on the roof!

AddThis Social Bookmark ButtonBy fred | February 1, 2007

Stuck. On the roof. They got stuck on the fucking roof. How ridiculous was that!? Oh. My. Good. That episode (S01E13) was pretty awful. I mean, I’ve always really liked & enjoyed watching Studio 60, but this time… Hey I got an idea : let’s get stuck on the roof! Men this episode was awful.

So yeah, Danny wants to talk to Jordan about all the recommendation letters he got her sent, recognize it was a bad idea and all. Basically, he wants to apologize to her. But they can’t talk on his office, its being re-paint, or right there cause people are walking by endlessly. And he’s got like, one word to say – “Sorry – so that needs a calm place and all. And he can’t “borrow someone else’s office for 2 seconds obviously.

Yes, they are stuck on the roof! So, they go up on the roof. And when this happened, and you think to yourself “Oh God this is ridiculous, along with a joke to yourself about watching the door not to get stuck, as it’s the most common cliché there could be.

And then, guess what happened? They did… get stuck on the freaking! Damn! roof! How retarded was that? I couldn’t believe it. I couldn’t believe it was happening, and on Studio 60 above all!

You know what ? This, is bad writing. And I don’t care that Danny Tripp (Bradley Whitford) mentions it. Mentioning it doesn’t make it ok, it just means that you knew how much it sucked, but you decided to go with it anyway. You were totally aware that you were writing bad stuff, that it was gonna be bad TV, but you went with it anyways.
Shame on you. Read the review of “Hey, let’s get stuck on the roof!” »
